Food was outstanding and the portions were huge. Our server was amazing. The only downside was the cost of cocktails. $16 for the tiniest margarita I have ever seen...two maybe three sips and it was gone since the tiny glass was mostly ice.
I eat at Delmonicos often, but on this visit, 4 out of a party of 8 had problems with their meals. Three of us ordered steaks. The delmonico and filet mignon were very well done, though both ordered "medium." There was absolutely no seasoning on the steak, and the first filet I received was so dry that it was hard to chew and swallow. They cooked me another filet, but it was only slightly less well done and also had no seasoning. The cook sprinkled a little au jus sauce...
Came with 3 elderly ladies for a birthday dinner. I haven't been there since my daughter was in college in Syracuse 5 years ago. First let me say the restaurant was very clean and the service was great, but the food was terrible. 2 out of the ladies were very disappointed with their meals but it's not like them to complain so I did not find out until the ride home. One had steak that was like eating leather and the other had food that was cold and very disappointing....
