The fried rice was pretty white and flavorless except for a strange taste which I couldn't put my finger on.
The pork and bamboo was very salty but tasted okay. The box was a little light for $20.

Great authentic Chinese. It's hard to find authentic Chinese outside of larger cities like NYC but this place is fantastic. Sometimes I go to some restaurants and I rarely trust them to make quality traditional dishes well but this place gave me full trust in their menu!
Go with some friends and order everything to share. You'll get great portions and a good variety of food! Definitely broaden your horizons and try some dishes you've never had before!
Over all a great spot with great food, large portions, and good prices.

Incorrect Tax Calculation on Takeout Order
I recently ordered four dishes for takeout from old chengdou. While the food was good, I noticed an issue with the receipt when I got home—the tax amount didn’t seem correct. After reviewing it, I couldn’t figure out how they calculated the total tax.
I recommend that the restaurant double-check its tax calculations to ensure accuracy for customers. It would also be helpful if the staff could provide a breakdown or clarification when asked.
Overall, I appreciate the food, but I hope this issue gets addressed to avoid confusion in the future

It is said to be open on Google maps but when we arrived it was not. If you're going on holiday or after hours, you'd better check their food delivery site rather than here for the most accurate open time.

A low-key restaurant with a homey atmosphere and (what counts most) delicious, authentic food. We had fish soup, lamb with cumin, spicy prawns, a simple cabbage disc, and more--and everything was excellent.
