Unfortunately very disappointed. I stopped by a couple weeks ago for the antioxidant boost smoothie. I’ve had their smoothies in the past, albeit a few years back, and enjoyed them. I took my first sip while still in the shop and it tasted really off. Sour, funky, and unpleasant. I asked the barista what kind of yogurt and mentioned that it tasted off. They told me it was Greek yogurt and assured me it was normal. I enjoy Greek yogurt and always keep some in my fridge, so I don’t think that was it. I hoped that my initial question would lead the barista to ask if they could offer me something different or check to make sure all ingredients were unexpired but they did not.

With every sip, I tried to convince myself it was fine, but it tasted horrible, and I ended up tossing 3/4 of the $10 smoothie.

In good faith, I emailed Original Grain that same day to inform them about this, and to see if there was an expired ingredient used in the smoothie which led to the sour taste. It’s been a few weeks and no one has responded to my inquiry. Feel bad that I wasted $10 and didn’t get to enjoy this drink. At the very least, I think management should have done its due diligence and responded to my inquiry and checked the freshness of the ingredients used that day in the instance that my instincts were correct.

This place is way overpriced $11 for a 12 ounce smoothie that cost $.50 to make. I ordered a chicken rice bowl today. The chicken was dark meat chicken that looked like a scoop of ice cream all wadded up into a ball on top of the rice bowl. You’re better off going to chipotle and getting a chicken bowl. This needs to step it up. I ate here last week for lunch and ordered a smoothie bowl and it was one banana some açaí and some granola for $13.

Stopped for a quick bite. Healthy bowl was topped with mayo, balsamic- looking sauce was sweet and rendered salad uneatable. Rice was overcooked and chicken extremely salty.

My work is very close by and I have just tried this place for lunch. Impressed!
Atmosphere is very calm and nice, plenty of choices on the menu.

I built a bowl with rice chicken and some toppings it came out around $17. And for me it was 2 portions.

They have selection of smoothies that i plan to also try. Will be back, because this place checks a lot of boxes for me: Healthy, modern and nice place to sit down and eat, close by, variety of selections

Tried the Southwest Smoke! Perfect combination of simple ingredients with explosive flavor! The dressing was very well made. I got shredded beef, scallions, peppers, cilantro, corn, on top of herb rice. Great price for the amount of food. Easily serves 2 with this size! Great location and welcoming staff. Inside seems very cozy

Amazing food! I had the tofu poke bowl and they accommodated my dietary restrictions without missing a beat (no dairy no peanuts). Delicious food and lovely people!

Absolutely DELICIOUS! So healthy! So accommodating with substitutions and gluten free friendly for my celiac/egg free husband! The kindest, most helpful service and super yummy food/drinks!

If you’re looking for a cute homegrown cafe with happy healthy food, go here!!! The owners an absolute LOVE!!

Mimi made my smoothie, and she couldn’t have been friendlier! Plus, the smoothie was delicious.

More healthy than fastfood but the people working there act like they're miserable...dude making the food calls my name ...I say thanks he gives me a side eye and walks away playing with his dirty inner hat w barehands that just made my food?... lol and they charged me 1.25 for a tiny container of peanut sauce less than 2 oz
Like a lot of places left to be run by the kids hired for low pay... it suffers and the food is only ok.
Facts...last time for me

For a 16 oz smoothie that costs a whopping $10, I expect a damn good smoothie. I’d even take a mediocre smoothie as long as I’m supporting a small business. I get that their smoothies are made with yogurt, but when I tell you this disaster tasted like slightly sweetened curdled milk with a hint of berry…by far the worst smoothie I’ve ever had. Nothing tasted fresh, hell, I barely tasted anything besides foul yogurt. I hate to leave reviews like this but I feel I was sufficiently duped. Not to mention the $3 tip I left, because, “oh! smoothies are labor intensive!” Wrong - poured straight from a pre-made batch and ready within seconds. Are you serious? Not to mention the side eye when I walked in…like what I do?

Waited 40 minutes during my lunch break and paid almost $20 for a coffee and tiny bowl that the workers forgot to put peanut butter and strawberry in. Not sure if their acai bowls are always supposed to be as thin as water or if I’m just the unlucky guy today.

Not impressed at all. Charged me an extra $1 because I wanted the banana on the side instead of on the bowl it came on. Also asked for 2 eggs, only got 1. The soft boiled egg on top of toast was actually cold! It was runny inside but actually ice cold- not sure how that is safe to eat unless it’s pasteurized or something. I’d choose somewhere else for sure.

My review is about the food only - the staff here is really great and very kind.

I got a breakfast sandwich and a toast. The breakfast sandwich was not great. The egg was clearly a reheated pre-made patty (for a $7 sandwich that feels not right - even in a bodega you get fresh eggs on a $5 sandwich) - the texture was off and spongey ? it was so drowned in mayo and cheese that it was incredibly messy to eat.

As for the toast, the avocado also does not seem to be fresh - it feels like those premashed tubs of avocado like Wholly Guacamole with a bunch of preservatives and yet no flavor. However, the bread is really tasty and I liked the other things on the toast. I just which it was actually fresh slices of avocado.

I would try this again for the smoothies and bowls, which looked good!

Plus side - the restaurant has a variety of hot sauces and those were bomb.
