We were visiting Syracuse and hungry, Google helped us find this gem. The parking lot was pretty full, but there was lots of seating available. You get to pick your own table or sit at the bar. Our server was very upbeat, friendly, and attentive. We ordered the mozzarella fritta and mac and cheese balls for apps. They came out quickly and were piping hot. We also ordered boneless mild wings and a cheese pizza. The wings were saucy and crispy, and the pizza was good. Overall, we had a pleasant experience, and our expectations were exceeded. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

they specialize in deep dish, it's pretty good. never had Chicago though to compare. we had pasta and it was good. nice little bar with tvs. patio outside but it was raining. my kids got to watch them make the pizzas at the counter. we've been here twice and will be back!

I grew up on Gino's East (the original Al Capone location), Giordano's (the original in Hyde Park), and much later on Lou Malnatti's--which I occasionally have shipped frozen to CNY. Pump Pizza's deep dish has a lot more crust, making it more a thick pizza than a Chicago-style deep dish pizza. It comes close, though.
Here's where I land: Hands down, it is THEE best pizza I've ever had in 25+ years in CNY (and I've tried a dozen or so). The flavor is OMG perfect, with a little tangy-ness, excellent seasoning, and fresh ingredients. For a moment there, it took me back home. That was a really nice moment.
I ordered ahead online. It was ready and piping hot when I arrived. Three (as in three different staff) immediately greeted me with a smile and lots of down-home friendliness. I was not expecting the ambience. It's a whole vibe. Love the vibe. I'm gonna go back for pizza, but also the live music.
An excellent joint to check out. Even better pizza.

I was here for the open mic night. Even though it was crowded the service was prompt and efficient. The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the meatballs..they were outstanding. 3 large homemade meatballs smothered in marinara with 3 generous scoops of ricotta and topped with grated Parmesan cheese. Highly recommend.
