One of my favorite coffee spots to take a walk to a little ways off SU campus and explore the Westcott area. I've always had good experiences here; baristas have always been helpful and nice. It can get busy, with limited seating inside. The tables outside are great when the weather is nice (would recommend if you have a larger group). As a heads up, food (i.e., sandwiches) do take a little longer to get at the counter than drinks. Like their mocha and lattes!

The inside seating is very limited and usually is full. There are enough tables outside and usually are available. It's a little on the costlier side.

Wish I could rate this neighborhood coffee shop more highly. My cappuccino was scalding, and I burned my mouth and had to wait about 15 mins for it to be cool enough to drink. My husband's peanut butter latte was undrinkable, with the flavors way too strong. Maybe it was just an inexperienced staff member on duty? But we left quite disappointed.
Really?Great place to get breakfast in coffee. Younger crowd but still it's for anybody.

One of the best coffee places I've gone to! The banana toffee was an absolute delight, wonderful flavour of banana throughout. 🍌
Will definately return, 10/10 establishment!
They also have cute displays for local artists and some seating area although dimly lit and not very conducive for studying

I really wanted to like Recess Coffee, but this was a disappointing experience. I ordered a matcha and the Adirondack drink, and honestly, both tasted pretty bad. The flavors were off, and it didn’t help that they rely on Torani syrups, the same ones you can pick up at TJ Maxx, so nothing felt unique or crafted.
To make things worse, my coffee cup was only filled a little over halfway (see photo), and even though I specifically asked if it came with cold foam and the cashier told me yes, there was none. There was also no flaky salt on top. For the price, that’s just frustrating.
I won’t be back… Salt City Coffee is much better.

One of a kind in this day and age. Visit them frequently and tip generously. With love, from Detroit.

Great place, drinks are always made beautifully. However every time I go there the WiFi does not work :( I really wish they would improve this. Turns me away from there from going to work, which is why I’m usually at cafes.

Love this place!
I came here with my gf on a busy day and tell you what the only thing thats keeping my review decent is the food its amazing but for the wait it is unbelievably a waste. Two cooks in the back taking their time and talking amongst each other as the line only gets longer. I waited an hour and a half for a small coffee and 2 basic sandwiches. I would only ever suggest coming here when there is nobody because on a busy day it’s a waste of time. It’s crazy how the wait alone can really make the entire experience that much worse.
