Service and atmosphere was great. Prices and food itself was mid. Potatoes were served cold. For the price we paid for the dishes I was expecting more. Porterhouse wasn't horrible but wasn't the best steak I've had.

Food was great even for left overs. The ribeye stakes are a great portion size for those that eat a lot of meat.

What is going on with the Scotch N Sirloin? It is billed as Syracuse’s Premier Steak House, and this is the truth. The bistro with the large, open fireplace is wonderfully cozy and the drinks fantastic. The place has been around for decades and it is the place to go. Or at least it should be. The S N S has had its ups and downs. It weathered covid, and there have been some changes. I miss the white butcher coats the staff used to wear, but generally the service has gotten better though still a bit inconsistent. Even accepting the post-covid staffing challenges. We went, not having been there in a year or so. The menu has good options and is reasonably priced compared to competing high-end places. Yet some dishes are just disappointing. We found the beef tips too saucy, and the 9 oz sirloin was a fatty. On the other hand, the prime rib sandwich was first rate, as was the burger. I don’t know if they want to move to a more pub-food menu, but this would be sad not to have the S N S maintain its position as a first-rate place for steaks.
Place doesn’t look like much from outside but the inside has a really cool almost medieval vibe. Steak was great and the beer was cold. Price was pretty high, but the service was great. Definitely worth a try.

Everything was delicious. Steaks cooked perfectly as I remember. Last one still open I think. Please don’t close this location. A lot of loyal customers in Buffalo are very sad we lost this restaurant. Now I will make the drive once a year with my family to support this one. Please support this place and keep it going! ❤️

Food was awful and poor presentation , never again !
My wife & I had an amazing dinner with steaks cooked to perfection! The atmosphere & waiter were excellent also. We sat in the Bistro area that encompasses a huge fire pit. I can just visualize in the winter time the heat that would put out. The decor in the restaurant is also very inviting & cozy. Highly recommend Scotch & Sirloin to all diners looking to have an enjoyable evening with a fantastic meal too! I post a must deserving 5 star review. We will be returning again soon for another enjoyable evening!😊

I showed up 5 minutes early with my gf 19 me 18. The host was nice and seated us in a corner. The host was a younger kid who was in my high school. The waitress (~45) with her crazy plastic surgery handed us menus and immediately asked us about appetizers and we said we didn’t know yet and her follow up was to ask us what we wanted to eat when we haven’t even opened the menus. She had an attitude about her that said she wanted us gone from the restaurant from the start. She came back every 2 minutes to ask us what we wanted to eat until we had decided 10 minutes later. Once we got the food, my top serloin was tougher than a grandma in a biker bar. Was obviously put on the back of the grill, burnt on the outside and definitely not medium rare. The guy who brought out the food (~42) seemed like he really didn’t want to be talking to us and dropped the food and left with minimal words. Me and my date got curious as to if the waitress was just having a bad night but she seemed very interested in the other older customers in the restaurant even asking them about topics in their conversations that she had walked up on. She asked us how our food was going which is standard and she had a scowl, I obviously don’t want to be a Karen and tell her it’s bad so I said good and she just walked away without even saying that’s great. That was the last time we talked to her, a younger woman (~22) came to get our plates with a smile and kindness and brought our check. I always loved coming here as a kid but now that I went for the first time without my family I do think there was age discrimination. Younger people tip too, I normally give 20% but for the service I was given I gave 65 dollars to cover a 61.58 bill. I feel it was deserved. Will not be returning.

Our Scotch n Sirloin back in Buffalo closed a few years ago so we decided to make the trek here ! We had been to this location back in the late 80s when my wife went to school at SU… upon arrival it looked the same! I hope the current owners can do something about the tired and worn exterior and get rid of the artificial Christmas tree branches in the planter and tell the owner of the closed credit union next door to cut the lawn! We were hoping for better inside and it was!
Stepped inside to a classic American steak house! Our steaks were cooked perfectly! My wife got the 7oz filet and I got the 16oz bone in ribeye- both super tasty. The accompanying sauces were an added bonus! Baked potato and green beans performed and hot upon arrival. Wine list is substantial and varied prices and selections. Service was excellent- attentive and friendly. Owners please fix up the exterior of the building!!!! You wouldn’t want to discourage people from coming in!!!

Jeremy, at the bar is absolutely outstanding. Food is amazing. The old fashioned is absolutely on point. While I don't crave a lot of red meat, when they do, this is the place I go.
Very disappointed in our food and quality of meat. I acknowledge we arrived late to our reservation. But the chef clearly sent us a message. We asked if it was too late to be seated (8:15) I would have preferred to have been told no then receive the quality of food served. Ordered 2 NY strips, medium rare. Served blue, one of them very tough with lots of gristle. We debated sending them back because I hate to be that kind of customer but they were too blue. Still on the cusp of rare upon returned from the grill. Wife had me finish cooking hers at home. I called the following day to mention this feedback and overall the owners responce took no value in the feedback and largely ignored the feedback due to “we are an old school steakhouse.” Not my first steakhouse, sir….
He offered a gift certificate - but was not seeking compensation. I refused as there is no need to revisit this establishment- a vestige of a steakhouse that once carried a name. Many other note worthy steakhouse around town.
That being said waitstaff, bartender, and atmosphere is on point, but not worth $200 for two for a tough steak and cold potatoes.
Picture is steak after being sent back.
I'm not one to leave a poor review but this place was just not very good...
The menu is very limited and overpriced. For reference a Strip steak is $48 and a simple burger is $21. Maybe I could accept the cost if the food was amazing but it wasn't. I ordered a chicken cordon bleu ($27) and it tasted like it had been fried at the bottom of months old used oil. The rice had an identical taste and came out looking like mashed potatoes. The wait staff were ok but it took over 28min for the food to arrive with only about 6 tables being served.
Amazing place the food was amazing the service was amazing I'll definitely be going back in the months to come
