I had an excellent lunch here--this is an under-appreciated gem for Syracuse. We had the beef suqaar (saucey meat and vegetables stew) with anjero (stretchy sourdough flatbread) and goat with rice. Both were very large portions and very flavorful--the Somali rice was an excellent flavorful dish in its own right, not an afterthought. Both dishes came with a small side salad, a spicy herb sauce, and a mild aioli. The Somali milk tea was also perfect, sweet and fragrant with spices....
This place is on my block and I’m glad it is! I had a night I was home alone so I went there. The owner was very nice in helping me understand my choices. The chicken sequaar was very good and the solmolian rice was delicious. I got some homemade hot sauce which was awesome but hot! Mango juice was outstanding and a must when you come here. The chicken somosa was excellent!
First time trying Somali food, and it was fantastic! Our server was super nice and made great recommendations. Price is extremely reasonable.

They have authentic dishes like goat liver, would 100% try it, but since that wasn't our vibe for lunch, she put together custom plates for us. We had chicken and beef suqaar, chapati, sambusa, and Somali tea. Plus, they gave us bananas to eat with our meal. The spicy sauce is 3/5 spicy level imo, and sooo good.
