Much of the food featured on the restaurant's website was not on the menu. Most disappointing? No cheese board - in a restaurant with a wine menu longer than a CVS receipt! I was also looking forward to the sous vide chicken but they had pan roasted chicken instead. My chicken was dry and under sauced. Only about a teaspoon of sauce for a whole chicken breast. It came with a half dozen small bites of potato. I liked the decor and our party of six had a round table. The table would have been perfect for conversation except we couldn't hear one another over the live music.

We had a wonderful dinner on a Thursday evening. We were early so the restaurant was quiet. We loved everything we ate starting with the scotch and wine, the tinned fish appetizer, then the halibut and the steak frites, followed by the lemon raspberry cake and the chocolate peanut butter cake. Everything was superbly cooked and beautifully plated. Excellent service. We will definitely be back and will recommend to friends and family.

This is my second time eating at The Tasting Room. Before leaving the first time, I knew I would bring my family back for another meal. It is a few doors down from The Landmark Theater making it a perfect place to eat before seeing a show. (You also get street parking space early, a definite plus in that part of Syracuse.) The ambiance is wonderfully calm. And the staff is beyond welcoming. The seasonal menu means you always get to enjoy something new on return trips. The food is simple but flavorful and filling, and not overpriced for what you get. The desserts are also fantastic. It's hard to choose just one! I highly recommend The Tasting Room for anyone befor seeing a show at The Landmark or for any special occasion.

This was our first visit to The Tasting Room, and we found it to be outstanding in every way. To me, there are three important elements that create a great dining experience: Ambiance, Food and Service. The Tasting Room hits a home run in every category. The ambiance was great, Thomas, our server was fantastic, and the 5 course tasting menu was amazing. We will definitely be back.

And evenings when there are events in town, the tasting rooms menu is very pared down, so the choices are very few. The service was great and the food we did was good. The prices are on the high side for what you get.

I went there with my daughter before seeing a show at The Landmark. (It is only a few doors down.) They had a themed menu corresponding to the show which seemed fun. The food was simple but well prepared and very delicious. The desserts were especially fantastic. The price was good for all we ordered. Our waitress Marianna was very attentive and helpful. After finishing our meal, we had extra time before the show started and she let us move to the comfy sitting area to finish our drinks. I highly recommend The Tasting Room and will definitely come again.

This was our first visit and not sure what to expect - however, as soon as we walked through the door we felt welcomed and valued. The entire wait staff was friendly, proactive, and accommodating. The food prepared by the chef was unique and very delicious! There were not many patrons which baffled me because the restaurant is beautifully decorated, the food is outstanding, the service was excellent, the price points are fair, the actual location is near convenient parking .... I guess this restaurant is an undiscovered gem in the Syracuse dining repertoire! We will definitely be going back and look forward to the chefs newest creations !

Was thrilled to see The Tom Brigandi Quartet playing live jazz in a fantastic setting. We opted for the tasting menu. The kitchen never disappoints and the food is always perfect and the service on point. The wine flight was a great compliment to our dinner. I'm not going to go into detail about our meal... Because the menu does change often... And you'll always find something you like. OK... the gnocchi, the crab, the tenderloin...all fantastic!

2 appetizers and 2 entrees were delicious. Beet salad was excellent. The filet was so good that the sauce (which I requested on the side) wasn't even necessary. Jazz on a Saturday was a nice surprise.

We had dined at the Tasting Room over a year ago, and appreciated their spread of vegan and vegetarian options. Since that time, they have gone through both a renovation of space as well as menu. The upgrade to the space was well done. The new tables and chairs feel more substantial, and the green wall adds a pop to the space without overwhelming it. We were comfortable in our seats, as well as where we were seated. There was live music that night, and we were pleased that we were still able to have a conversation without much difficulty. Kudos to the performer as well. Finally... the food. As mentioned above, we both tend vegan but will eat eggs and dairy when dining out. We missed the small plates and appetizers that had been mainstays of our previous visits, and were a disappointed with not having much of a choice in entree. That said? I really enjoyed the ricotta gnocchi, and am so glad I selected it. I don't want to think about the calories, but the sauce played well with the little pillows of gnocchi. Delicious! Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Service was good, but we had some issues with the food being prepared at right times. Our entrees were cold & we didn't receive our appetizers until after the meal was served. There were many events going on downtown, so I guess next time we'll plan accordingly.

We went to the tasting room after a show and they had a limited menu inspired by the show.... It was delicious! I got the harvest bowl which was perfect..... my mother cod which was cooked perfectly and was delicious. We each got one of their signature cocktails which were the perfect blend... no heavy pours which is hard to find anymore. The server was very sweet and took time to talk to us even though they were busy! If you in Syracuse it is definitely worth a stop
