Rachel was absolutely ðŸ‘!!!
We decided to eat at Sharky's before a concert at the venue as we though it would be more convenient than eating elsewhere and risk being late. Boy were we wrong on every count. We arrived at 5:45 and lined up for 10 mins or so, to get our wristbands to get into the venue. No problem with that. We then joined a line up to be seated to eat. We waited for 20-30 minutes to be seated, while there were at least 10 empty tables in the restaurant. The hostess was absent for 90% of the time and when she appeared she would seat one party, then disappear for another 10 minutes, either in the kitchen area or walking seemingly aimlessly around the restaurant. I tried to get our family a table by sitting at one of the empty tables and ordering, but was told we had to see the hostess first as they were operatig on a waitlist. I get that, if there really was a need for it, but with more empty tables than parties waiting it was just making us wait for no reason. Eventually we got a table when my wife found the hostess and pointed at a table and said, we have found a table can we sit there? So we get a table and recognizing that we should likely order quickly we decided what we wanted to eat. Our server was a little slower than you might expect in a typical restaurant but was lightning fast compared to the hostess and she seemed to be doing her best. So we ordered 3 burgers and fries, which we thought would be quick. We ordered our food at around 6:25. The minutes ticked by and we watched staff running around, in the restaurant and bar seemingly in a rush, but never really doing anything. There was very littel food leaving the kitchen. It was very strange to watch. Occasionally our server would come to us and tell us that the kitchen was slammed and our food would be out as soon as possible. We thought this was a little funny as although there were a lot of peole drinking outside, the restaurant never had all of the tables full. Perhaps because of the excellent work of the hostess.... So we waited and waited, we watched some other tables whe were seated after us get served, and we waited and waited. We finally got our food at 7:45. An intolerable wait and we would have walked out of any other restaurant given this terrible service, but we were going to the show so felt we had litttle choice. We did not expect much from the food, but it did not meet even our lowered expectations. Out of 3 burgers 2 were very overcooked. The fires were soggy and the onion rings very greasy. We would have been far happier with any fast food restaurant. All in all it was awful. The manager asked us how our meal was. We explained that it was terrible and we had to wait so very long. He said the kitchen was slamed and offered to but us all drinks. But my wife is pregnant, our son 11 years old and I was driving. So it wasn't very helpful. So he just apologized and walked off. Our server, who was the only person in the entire venue who seemed to be doing a reasonable job apologized and said that she hoped we still stayed for the show. We did and the Strumbellas were fantastic just as we expected. If you are thinking about eating here before a show. Do yourself a favour and don't! We eat out regularly and out of hundreds of meals in tens of countries this was by far the worst experience that we could recall.
