I will start this by saying I am a big IRL I am overweight We went for my friend to order some dinner after shopping.
Everything was fine My friend ordered a pound of fish, two fries, and a half pound scallops for himself and of course to share with the animals ( I don't eat seafood)
Then came the issue. The man behind the counter looked at me and then went to the cooler grabbed the filet of fish and showed my friend that it was just one piece of fish. He proceeded to ask my friend if he was sure that was enough.
I didn't think anything of it at first I even said hey that's a big piece of fish.
Then my friend decided a few minutes later he did want an extra piece and another fry. So I let the man know so he could cook it
Then it was finally ready and to cash out when I started to hear the man and another customer talking and I could tell it was based on the fact of how much food and fish we got.
The customer proceeds to tell the man behind the counter that he thinks one piece of fish is good for 2 people it's a pretty big piece of fish. Then the man behind the counter proceeded to check us out but responds with yeah usually it is but when your... And he looks at me and then the guy he was talking too. ( He was signaling my weight, b/c I am a bigger girl) then laughs a little. We walk away he looks at me again and then says something in another language I'm guessing the word for fat because they look at me one last time and laugh.
Yeah that was an experience. And not a good one.
You are a worker at a food establishment I'm sure I'm not the only overweight person who visits it. So if you are talking about me like that then I'm sure others are talked about as well and that's disgusting and disrespectful. Especially when we are paying customers. Not to mention it's not cheap.
I went to the car and cried because I wasn't expecting that to happen, my friend didn't realize it happened but when I told him he was very upset.
I'm not even eating the food but even if I was why does it matter how much we get.
We went there to get some food and have a good night. Not be judged and feel like total crap after leaving out the door.
So please be aware if you do go to that fish cove because they are judgemental and will talk about you in front of everyone and to other customers.
They are not a nice group of people.

Highly disappointed! Breading was heavy & tough, I couldn't cut through it with a fork easily. The fish it's self was not flaky, very dense and did not taste like haddock. I mentioned this to a neighbor who had also gone there and she noted the same problem. Unfortunately, we won't be back, the search is on for a great piece of haddock!

Very confusing for a first time customer. No real direction or help as to how they expect you to to move through the strange lay out. Whole pieces of fish at one counter but sandwiches at another counter(?). I felt like I was an inconvenience to them since I didn't know how things work there. Also, overpriced. Ended up paying $43 for two pieces of fish, one order of fries, 4 small ramekins of tartar sauce, and a mac salad. Food not hot or great, mac salad tasted like coleslaw, the fish they gave me was sitting out on a tray, not cooked fresh to order. They seem popular so I guess that they have their following, but I won't be in any hurry to go back.

This is certainly not a sit down restaurant. It is a place for ordering various fish by the pound, or for ordering a haddock sandwich with fries and various sides. That said, the haddock sandwich is wonderful, served on a nice roll with plenty of tartar sauce. The fries are nice and crispy. I didn’t try all the sides, but the macaroni salad was very good. They also have canned drinks. Overall, a delicious and relatively inexpensive lunch.

We visit Fish Cove often for Friday or Saturday night dinner. Our favorites include the haddock, haddock sandwiches, sea scallops, and onion rings! Their fried cauliflower is always cooked to perfection. They are friendly people, and no matter how long the line, it moves quickly. They take credit card, and have picnic tables to eat outside.

First time going to fish cove having a bad experience!! He is ripping people off for one, we ordered scallops and they were not cleaned. They did not remove the chewy muscle that is sapose to come off, which is more weight and more money for him. This is not right. Not only that but they were over cooked and full of grease. The fish was over cooked as well! Not worth the $52 dollars that was spent there today!! Very disappointing.
