It's the Lost. It may as well be a landmark if it isn't already. So many great shows have come through the place. We recently went to a show, and it was great.

Do not recommend. Staff treated me like I was some kind of misfit. Very disappointing and will not be going back.

Went here for a show tonight. Nowhere did it indicate any minimum age for attendance. Even if there was, I'm 21 so it doesn't matter to me. When security checked my ID (my state issued very real ID that I've never had any issue with) I was told it was fake and without a second form of ID I would be removed. The friend I was with, while above 18 was under 21 and was let in without issue, which made it feel like it was something against me personally. I avoid confrontation at all costs but this was ridiculous to me so I pushed back and calmly asked him what made him think it was fake. He refused to explain only telling me that he's seen a lot of fakes that night and mine was fake. I showed him my student ID because if I was using a fake ID why would I use my real name in the first place, and he told me that wasn't enough. When I told him I didn't have my passport but pictures of it he yelled at me to show him. When I did and I asked him to explain it to me what made him think it's a fake, he once again only reiterated that he's seen a lot of fakes that night and it was one. I restated the question and asked if there was any features he could specifically point to would indicate it's a fake because if there was a problem with my ID I wanted to know. He told me if I kept arguing with him I would be removed, even as I was walking away. If this was just for drinks I wouldn't have cared, but the fact that it seemed to be for entry into the venue, even when there was no minimum age indicated, and if there was, would someone under 18 really have a fake Id, a student id somehow, and be hanging out with college kids? In addition to the fact that he couldn't answer the question of which parts of my ID looked fake? It seemed extremely personal. Or maybe this place just needs a scanner or to train their security better. It was an insulting, embarrassing, and frustrating experience.

The atmosphere is rock and roll nightclub nostalgia personified! The building is beat up but that didn't change the experience!

My friend and I are huge Chris Jericho fans, and found out that his band Fozzy was playing at The Lost Horizon in Syracuse, and we jumped at the first opportunity to see him. The show itself was fantastic; however the venue had a LOT to be desired. As stated below, it is extremely hot, muggy, and the air is very stagnant. I found myself sweating profusely as the night went on, and the whole building is ran by 2 residential AC units as shown from the outside of the building. Towards the end of the show, I almost felt like I was going to pass out, we left a song early before the show ended as I had to get out of there. The staff had a barn fan on premises (joke) and wouldn’t even point it at us or keep it on us with an excuse “the band doesn’t want it on” as everyone was a hot mess; literally. The bartenders are attractive, which is a positive, but it’s a shot dive bar that shouldn’t be doing shows of this caliber and size; too much. On top of that; parking is a complete joke, as you have to park 4 businesses down, and if you aren’t careful, you put your vehicle at risk of being towed if you don’t do research beforehand on their Facebook page of where to park. If Fozzy comes around, I’ll go, but I’ll never go to this venue again. Pass.

It's such a great venue for small shows! Sells out frequently, and it is very easy to get up close to the bands! It feels much more intimate and a lot more fun than a lot of other larger venues. Bands can be more like themselves and have a better, more lively time with the crowd. Highly recommend to anyone, parking is a bit awkward and hard to find, but otherwise it has always been an amazing experience. I would say it is just one of my favorite venues overall!! I will absolutely continue going here as long as there are shows there!!

Great intimate spacing with bands. Personally I love the history and all the bands I've seen there for over 20 yrs. Bathrooms are always a mess, parking sucks... But for those deficits The Lost makes up in a having a great bartending staff, great prices, rich history and respectable staffing. You never know who you met or bump into there. The Lost is a Syracuse standard for a good time!

An old high-school bud and I saw Soulfly at the Lost Horizon, and the band was awesome. The venue itself was a nice smaller size and had a good set up. Sometimes smaller places can end up ruining the sound because it is way too loud for the space, but the sound engineer did an excellent job, loud but clear. You can see the stage from almost anywhere and the eye candy working the bar was a definate plus. Like others have commented, maybe they work at the "gentleman's" club next door. Only negative about this venue is the parking lot was way too small! I couldn't park anywhere near the place.

It was a nice venue. Clean. Didn't get any drinks while there so can't judge it for that.

This is a dingy rock club. The restrooms are disgusting, and the alcohol selection is spotty. But, the music is great. Local and national acts from all subgenres of rock n roll come there. There are places where it's hard to see the acts, but you will never not be able to hear the acts. This place is Rock.
