Best place in town for oysters for sure. Knowledgeable bartenders who can make a proper cocktail with care and attention. Large food portions. Prices seem to be in line with most of the other restauants in Syracuse. Overall a great upscale but not pretentious option downtown. Closest thing to a NYC brasserie in Syracuse.

A very worthwhile visit. The food was different and good. I passed on the steak because the price seemed very high, and there was no indication it was Wagu. I sat at the bar, and my server was amazing. She was attentive, informative, and engaging. Plus, she always had a smile! I will recommend this as a stand-out establishment and encourage you to give it a try.

The staff there are extremely inconsiderate not to mention blatantly racist towards myself and my friends. Ignore us for more than half an hour and our food was cold. When we complained to the manager they disregarded us! Crazy enough I was on Facebook and saw someone who shared the same horrible experience. Something had got to be done.

Here’s what I have to say…I don’t live in Syracuse I live in nyc but my wife is on a travel assignment at upstate hospital. I came up to see her. I called the restaurant to make an 9pm reservation but they couldn’t do it…I explained to the hostess that my wife gets out of work at the hospital at 730 so a 739 seating wouldn’t work for us and it’s unfair of me to ask her to rush after a 12 hour shift or literally saving local lives to be ready in 5 minutes for dinner. She understood. But it me on hold and got us a reservation that would allow my wife to have a great dinner and not have to be stressed after being stressed all day. Jeremy the server was fantastic but in all reality the fact that you guys helped me give my wife a good night means everything. I appreciate it and I’ll be back.

When we arrived we were told by seemingly confused hostesses that we canceled the reservation we previously made (to our knowledge, we did not). They initially said we canceled via email, then they told us they didn’t even have our email, so we were told we must have logged on to the website and canceled it. Mind you the dinner was for a birthday celebration. They ultimately sat us roughly 45 minutes later, no apology or anything. Bartender and waitress were very nice and friendly. Regarding food, one party didn’t eat their entree because it was that bad, that was comped which was nice. One party ordered a steak which was poorly cooked and flavorless.

Horrible, will never give my service to this place. Was with some friends last night and tried to go to the bar around 12:30am. The bouncer started checking our Id’s and was gonna let us in until he saw me and said I cant wear a hat or my hoodie and had to take it off. So I went and brought it back to the car to come back and find out the bouncer said none of us were going in cause all the sudden they were “closed”. Mind you it was 26 degrees out. Disappointed and will never come back or recommend to anyone.

Food is good but the drinks are all ice and everything is overpriced. We paid $70 for small seafood tower that only had 3 clams, 6 oysters, 2 shrimp, and 1/2 a lobster tail. We paid $289 for appetizers and drinks. We don’t mind paying for nice things but you don’t get what you pay for at the York!
