We are patrons since Gio Batta opened. The wonderful atmosphere, Francesco's lovingly-crafted & beautiful foods, and the excellent, attentive and well-trained staff combine to make this our go-to restaurant in Tivoli, and always a dinner visit when we're in the area. You'll taste the love, and whatever your meal selection you can't go wrong. Enjoy!

They charge 18% operation fee + tax instead of tips. It seems this restaurant is on the anti-tip movement. I agreed with that mind, but that mind affected the service mind also, I guess. The employees (about 10 or fewer people) eat and chat while only 2 tables of customers(4 people) have dinner quietly. I had never seen this kind of scene before at the restaurant. I feel I was uninvited guest of their party.
The food was good, though. But I would not come back to this restaurant.

I recently visited the area for the second time in three years and am not sure why I don't go more often! Friend and I sat outside and enjoyed aperol spritzes, chunks of parm, prosciutto, calamari and their penne arrabbiata. We left satisfied and with leftovers! All the servers were so sweet. The arrabbiata was deeply flavorful and spicy, the best I've had since I visited Rome. With two drinks each the bill was high but nothing unexpected from a high quality restaurant. Looking forward to going again!

GioBatta was lovely! We met there for lunch. I had called ahead about handicapped access- there's a little 2-in step up into one of the doors. The owner had a special ramp made for us! We were a group of six so we got to try a lot of things. We had pasta Bolognese, Spaghetti a la Vongole, gluten free pasta Carbonara and spinach ravioli with brown butter sauce. Everything was delicious. It's great to have the option of real homemade pasta that is gluten free. Everybody ate more than they'd planned to. And with an aperol Spritz in hand, it felt like we were actually in Italy.

We recently returned from an amazing trip to Southern Italy and have been on the hunt for delicious, authentic pasta. This past weekend, we finally tried GioBatta and were extremely pleased with both the food and the service. The restaurant isn't particularly large, but the tables are arranged nicely, allowing for ample space between them. The overall decor reminds us of a restaurant we visited in Tricase—think it's the Venetian plaster. The focaccia was beautifully baked and seasoned, and the linguine alle Vongole was mind-blowingly delicious. We also ordered steak and branzino for our second course, and while they were slightly under-seasoned compared to the appetizers and pasta, we still really enjoyed our meal overall.

Just like every review I’ve just now seen- tip 18% mandatory tip. The food was good. Service was adequate given there was only one server for the entire restaurant.
It seems completely counter productive to charge a mandatory 18% tip that is shared with the front and back staff but then the state tax takes a portion of that. We usually tip 20-25% tip but this left me confused. You want your employees to make a livable wage you claim but the state gets a cut of it off the top before the employee gets gouged by the state for income tax? Who thought that one up? Cuomo?! I felt less compelled to leave a tip if they wasted a portion already by giving it to tax bloated state like NY. I would much prefer to give cash to the server and they can divide their money as agreed to by the house.
Sorry this flavored my meal the whole time since I’ve left and though it was good I wouldn’t return.

My girlfriend and I decided to go across the river to check this place out. the reviews seemed somewhat above average and the menu seemed right up our alley. We got sat fairly quickly after the hostess double checked the reservations, which ended up being funny cause when we left, half the place was empty. we got the focaccia appetizer and it was very soggy. it reminded me of a lukewarm star pizza sicilian slice. definitely not a great start. the Arrabiatta felt like i had ordered it off the kids menu. bland red sauce and solidly cooked pasta. this would be great at $10 bucks, not $25. my girlfriend got this special pesto sauce pasta dish and the pasta was at minimum 5 minutes away from al dente. nice atmosphere, great service, but if you're looking for a quality Italian meal, just drive over to Annarellas. the food was appallingly bad for the price. I do hope the owner comments on this saying i'm wrong. in the end, just have a few solid drinks here with your buddies and eat at home.

Waitress was great. The food was not!! I’ve never been to a place where I could not eat what I ordered! Not only me but my wife got the same thing and she could not eat it!! Very very salty! If my wife says way too much salt then it’s a problem
The management said it was cause of the goat cheese. My wife at this dish numerous times and said it’s not just that.
