We had an amazing anniversary meal here! Everything is so fresh, farm to table quality. Highly recommend the heirloom tomatoes and crispy pork belly appetizers, swordfish, and chocolate tarte. We also had the chicken schnitzel and it was perfectly crispy and so delicious! Will definitely be back next time we visit the area!

When I vacation with my wife at our family cottage at Cayuga Lake, we always make sure we grab dinner at Hazelnut Kitchen. We had our post-engagement dinner here, and we just had our fourth anniversary dinner here too (with a few in between). The food is ALWAYS exceptional. This year’s pork was particularly outstanding. A true gem of upstate NY!

Let's begin with the food. It was well presented, locally sourced, fresh, and absolutely delicious!
After our meal, we spoke with the owner/chef, expressing our compliments for his culinary skills. He was engaging and shared with us the history of the building and how it became Hazelnut Kitchen. In all, we had a great dining experience. I would recommend it.

This was excellent. We had dinner in early August and the food was very good: I had the complementary bread with chive butter, feta-stuffed squash blossom tempura (amazing!) and mezzaluna in a sweet corn-based sauce. Each was excellent and each was original. I'll definitely be back.

Very creative menu and a lovely atmosphere. One of the few places around really committed to the farm to table philosophy with seasonal dishes.

A small but perfect menu with something delicious for everyone. The food was amazing, cocktails delicious but I do wish they had more of a selection of local wines and beer.

Edit: it seems out of there are already several reviews complaining about the attitude of the manager. Business owner/chefs should think about what their vision for the restaurant is and how the front of house fits into it.
Male Manager should talk to owner and clarify what a service dog is and what is legally the requirement to qualify a service dog. Male manager rudely informed me that only service dogs with a vest were allowed into the restaurant as upon completion of service dog training that they were granted an official vest and that this requirement is “literally state law” - this is literally incorrect. If that is restaurant policy, it is unenforceable and illegal.
Male Manager should take care to not speak rudely and passive aggressively about a topic that they are ignorant about. While I read from the ADA website about what defines a service dog, male manager rudely cut me off several times and spoke in an extremely derogatory tone.
Advise the restaurant owner to clarify what the restaurant policy is versus the ignorant actions of this male manager (he maintained that this was restaurant policy and did not want to get yelled at by the owner). Please consult a lawyer or someone else with reading ability (evidently a weakness of this individual) to review the ADA law and guidelines on service dogs.
I have filed a civil complaint with the ADA/
civil rights DOJ.

This is an amazing restaurant run by amazing people. Hyper local food. Attention to detail and tastes. Synergistic food and taste combinations with real in season food. This is a dining experience more than just a place to eat. We don't get a chance to get here often, but have never been disappointed. Food and service are the best in the area.
Dined in on 4/19/25. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was ok, the service was terrible. We arrived for our dinner for 2 at 7:35 for a 7:45 reservation. Greeter/server looked annoyed , like he couldn’t find our reservation. Led us to a table without a word, and then let us sit for about 15 minutes, while he chatted and served others that were seated after us. Finally came around asking for drinks and said something about our fault for arriving early. While dinner ended up tasting fantastic, it couldn’t overcome the rude service we received. I took it out on server with the appropriate tip. Would try establishment again, hoping for a better greeting and service.
Outstanding service and dining. The waiter was fantastic giving even more care than we required into dietary choices among our group, and doing it efficiently and with care. Very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable, a great dining experience! We traveled from Ithaca and neighboring towns to meet up here at Main Street in Trumansburg, (not at all far from Ithaca) and we'll go back. It was a really lovely dining experience.
Chef Matt is truly talented, warm, kind and just wonderful all-around. His food is always prepared with heart and soul. Highly recommend ❤️
Over the years, we have eaten here many times. Both my husband and I have always had positive experiences and delightful meals. The ambiance and service are on point. The food is amazing! I highly recommend checking them out.
