This is top 3 maybe 2 best Jamacian food I have had in a LONG time. I had the brown stew chicken. So flavorful!! I’m Haitian and I am very judgmental when it comes to rice ? but this rice was REALLY good. And I ordered 20 minutes before they closed, food was FRESH! Next time I’m in Uniondale, I know where I’m eating.

Visiting from Charlotte the best Roti and Caribbean food in Long Island was a frequent customer from 20 years ago

Please DO NOT COME HERE. They clearly don’t want Hispanic/latinos business. I gone a handful of times and there’s always something missing in my order. I went on Friday to order a lunch special with everything on it. I saw the cook prepping and gave to the cashier who opened the plate and bagged it. Shame on me for not triple checking cause they only gave me chicken n rice nothing else …. Clearly this is discrimination and lack of caring from the staff. Please hire workers that will care about your establishment. Lost my business will go to blue mermaid or Woodfire grill instead. MUCH CLEANER and professional staff

My sweetie and I went to Tropical Jerk in Uniondale, on Sunday 5/26/24 we ordered Jerk chicken dinners/extra gravy and stew chicken.
The extra gravy never made it to my food and his was swimming in gravy. He couldn’t eat it and the taste was off. On Monday I was going to have some for lunch as I went to play it I pulled out of the stew chicken a piece of plastic. Omg what have you done to the food. This place used to be so good. Never again. I wish I could post the videos.

My daughter purchased 2 small dark meat fry chicken upon getting home it was white meat,I I called to see how I could get the situation rectified I was put on hold for over 25 min without getting any justification.I would never go back to that establishment ever and hopefully others will check their orders before leaving the restaurant . Tropical Jerk on Jerusalem Ave is not worth spending your money there

Literally just ordered and just received my order COLD AND TASTELESS.. OXTAILS PEAS AND RICE SPICY AS IF COOKED WITH PEPPER SAUCE TASTELESS NO FLAVOR AT ALL VERY BLAND. JERK CHICKEN ASKED AND PAID FOR EXTRA SAUCE “THE TRAY IS BARE” No sauce.. THE JERK CHICKEN NOT SATISFYING AT ALL❗️THIS MEAL IS DISGUSTING!!!❗️❗️❗️?

My real issue with this place is one they never pick up the phone , by picking up the phone it would save a lot of troubles when it comes to service. STOP MAKING SO MUCH JERK CHICKEN.. how are you open till 10pm but run out of everything except Stew Chicken & Jerk Chicken by 6pm .. it’s clear people prefer everything else before the jerk or stew chicken .. jerk pork, fried chicken, and oxtail is EXCELLENT HERE.. can’t take the atmosphere is great as it’s Takeout so no real ambiance but the staff are typically in a good mood. The jerk chicken compared to the jerk pork just always seems to be much drier which takes away the flavor. I will continue to get my jerk pork & fried chicken. all I ask which I think most ppl will agree with us just PICK UP THE PHONE

I bought a medium Rice and peas with vegetable as I am a vegetarian, when I got home and opened the container I was very disappointed. There was a lot of rice and a small portion of veggies. I also bought a large red peas soup and was highly disappointed because the container has a lot of dumplings and potatoes but a small amount of liquid and no meat. Looking at my hard earn money going into the garbage pain my heart. Please enlighten the customers as to how the portion size are especially the vegetarian who ordered like me and use your descriptions when serving soup. If I wanted all food in my soup I would have asked for it. I dont think I will ever return there again as a first time customer. Cashier was pleased with a smile, so I said thanks for that.

I love this place! They have several locations, and each one doesn't miss a beat! I highly recommend the oxtail rice and peas and cabbage, best combo! Food is always fresh no matter what time it is. If you are in that area, stop and try. Staff can be a little more friendly, but other than that, it's worth the money and stop.

There are not many options for (ovolacto) vegetarians and vegans.

Vegetarian options: They only have patties, which apparently run out quick. And the veggie roti is just a colossal amount of cabbage in the roti. There is no potato chana roti.

Everytime I order from here, it’s either a wrong order, no sauces , and most importantly small portions. I will no longer be subjected to poor treatment.
