Usually like the food at Mr Gs - I ordered fried fish dinner. Fish was overcooked, coating so hard on bottom of the 2 pieces. The mashed potatoes very dark and dry. The cole slaw was gross, it didnt seem like cabbage, more like kale. Since it was comped I didnt say anything. My wifes brolied fish was ok. The menu is the same old, week in and week out. A prime rib is offered on Weds in December, but why not have prime rib on weekends? Anyways not good last nite but will go again.

Ordered the prime rib. Tasted good but had an a good of mount of fat... typical of prime rib. Wished my steak knife was sharper. It was tough to cut. The mashed potatoes were good. The broccoli was hard (under cooked?). Having said that,, I've had much better meals there. I will definitely go back, just won't order the prime rib

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had! The hotel is run down and dirty! The pool area has rust, like warm hot tub w/murky water and broken ceiling tiles. The room 717 had no hot water after 10 mins called the front desk another 10 mins and it warmed just enough to be tolerable. Went to Mr. G's- the appetizer was disgusting- Italian Greens...it was literally chopped up romaine lettuce award warm I. A pan with oil salami and seasoning it was crunchy stalky and wet warm lettuce- inedible! Mr G's pasta sounded good but came out looking like rigatoni sitting in the murky hot tub water which had been boiled with pre cooked shrimp and scallops that were ridiculously overcooked under seasoned and rubbery. This was sent back. Both items were taken off our bill, the waitress was fantastic and felt so bad but agreed it was terrible and even bought us a drink. Honestly the worst date night ever

Good food. The portions are generous. The chicken parm portion is huge. Enough for two people. The staff is very nice. It's a nice quiet place to eat.

We enjoyed a delicious meal and the service was great. My friend ordered the porterhouse steak special and I had the haddock oreganato. Both meals were delicious. We plan to visit Mr. G's again.

We were a party of 4. Three people got the steak special and one the statler chicken. Everyone who had steak were very pleased. The chicken entree was ok but was very small for $28 dollars. The mashed potatoes that were served on all dishes left something to be desired. They appeared to be baked potatoes that were smashed with skins on.

Mr. G's is a neighborhood gem! Its menu has all the traditional favorites- eat light, eat hearty, just have a burger. We love the cozy atmosphere where you can sit, have a meal or drink, and enjoy each other's conversation. Absolutely no chaos even when the room is full. Amanda and her wait staff are so welcoming and happy to serve you. It's our go-to place!

My wife and I have had dinner three times in the last 2 months and we always order the same thing, chicken parm dinner and broiled fish dinner and it has been excellent every time, the first time there we had a waitress Mary and she is excellent, we request her every time and the service that she gives is the best. We are going back to Vernon Downes on Friday and we will have dinner at Mr G's ,and request Mary again. Also i would like to add it is very affordable and great food,try it you will like it, John
