100% Do not recommend, room was dated and dirty.
Rented this room for my kids & fiancé a girls night out to swim & enjoy the hot tub, when the hot tub was out of service pool was dirty and BLACK MOLD was visible in many locations, no heat in pool area total waste of money.
Asked on the phone Monday about pool and hot tub was told they had both, lady at desk after walking into pool area informed me the hot tub has been out of order for a week waiting on parts.
Refused to refund us, clearly they need every dime they can get a complete hell hole.
Went to turning stone got a room with a clean pool & working hot tub with no mold!
Always a fun time at Vernon Downs, its a smaller place with only slot machines. A few restaurants and a nice bar area that has live music. The race track is nice also, indoor or outdoor seating.
This place needs a manager. It is so hard to contact them. You have to hit like four buttons to get ahold of somebody. No matter what time of day it is, they put you on hold. And then you sit on hold for 10 minutes and it disconnects. Then you call back and they act just as annoyed as they did when you first called. There has never been a more rude grizzly miserable bunch of employees assembled, as there is in the hotel at Vernon Downs
Was great ,from the rooms to the lobby and casino floor... live music in the bar kept us entertained for hours!!
Great wedding hospitality and beautiful photo opportunities. I'm a wedding photographer who has worked at Vernon Downs many times over the last 15 years. I can say without question, Vernon Downs is a dream venue to work at! There are so many beautiful spots around the property, which makes it easy to create a lot of variety without ever feeling rushed...and the sunsets there are GORGEOUS! The hospitality is fantastic, and the staff is truly wonderful—professional, organized, and incredibly easy to work with. From start to finish, they make the day run smoothly, which makes a huge difference for both vendors and couples.
My only problem with the hotel is that unless you are a VIP you can't book a room for New years eve. I feel it should be first come first served. Not because you can't afford to lose as much money as some people.
Very nice place I went there and had dinner the buffet was really good the service at the buffet was was good as well ,the waitress wasn't as attentive as most but she was really busy. The people at the front desk and at the cashier's cage were fast friendly and very helpful I love that there is security all around and I watched one of the security escort a winner out to their car which was wonderful to see. And the host Mark very excellent the energy he spreads around on the floor is wonderful and he really does try to say hello to everyone in the casino which is wonderfull. I would recommend this place for a nice night out for entertainment they have live bands which is very nice as well
Go once a month. Shirt distance get away. We enjoy it
Stayed here for a wedding in town. Small casino that was not that crowded. Rooms need some updating as they seems to be kind of old and used. Nice view of the harness track.
Can't beat the price of their buffet.
