Our group of four popped in for some beers and bar food on the way back to our campsites at Verona Beach State Park. The service was fast and friendly, beers were cold, and our snacks were hot and tasty. We sat at the bar, and the other patrons were friendly. We will definitely return the next time we are in the area.

Driving through New York near Oneida, we veered off I-90 in search of a local restaurant for lunch. We stumbled upon Gary's while looking for another restaurant and we were so glad we found this place. The restaurant offers great views of Oneida Lake. Excellent comfort food homestyle cooking makes Gary's a great find.

5 star view, 0 star service. I got to watch a a party of 12 receive incredible service though,saw them order, eat and then even receive cake plates for a birthday for desert. All while never receiving my appetizer. Wild experience.

Linda took great care of us! Great food. Wonderful atmosphere with a view of the lake.. Fish sandwich was huge. Sweet potato fries were delicious. Fantastic hot covered meatball sandwich. We’ll be back.

Been going to Gary's restaurant for bout 6 years ,love the good ,service is good and prices are really great only complaint is that it gets cold in there with the air on if its only 70's outside no air is needed open the windows let fresh air in ,so if ya cold blooded make sure always wear sweater ,but thats my only complaint ,other than that I love the place .

When scallops turn black and taste fishy they are beyond their freshness. My French Onion soup wasn’t very good. Surprised my husband went to finish mine and said it didn’t taste right but his was ok - food should taste the same for each guest. I wasn’t expecting skin on my haddock so that just put the disappointment over the top. Service was excellent and very friendly - that was this place’s only saving grace.
We got there when they opened. I was pretty quiet. I ordered the Bleu Burger and the wife ordered a cheeseburger. We sat by the window and it had a great view of Oneida Lake. Food took a little bit to get to us but it was well worth the wait. They didn't disappoint and we will stop again.

When tempted to eat at Sylvan Beach, skip the mainstay restaurants that charge a fortune for mediocre food, and stop-in at Gary's Restaurant. We did. And we were very pleased with the view, the menu, the food, and the service. Well worth going back to. Very clean. Dining room is quiet compared to most restaurants at Sylvan Beach, that charge a fortune for a noisy atmosphere. Enjoy the sunset view, while dining or having a cold one. The ice cream, afterwards hit-the-spot. Gary's is close to Verona Beach State Park. Walking distance. And that's just what we did. It's a hidden gem, on the shoreline of Oneida Lake.
