TLDR: Delicious Cambodian food at reasonable prices with good service in a lovely location.Review: my wife and I love going to the movies at the nearby theater, but we always struggled to find a good non-chain "ethnic" restaurant to eat at nearby. I'm so very glad we found this place last night. The location is lovely, right in the middle of Victor's cute little downtown. Inside is clean and welcoming. The hostess/server/owner Clarissa brings you right into the intimate venue with tasteful but simple decorations. It smells like heaven and you can hear kids playing in the back room, a sure sign that the Asian food is going to be delicious.According to the restauranteur, they have been slowly moving from a pan-asian menu to a Cambodian menu for the three years they've been open and switched menus completely in December. Gone is the pad thai and in are the cherished family recipes of the cook and co-owner passed on for generations. We got the papaya salad and chicken wings with fish sauce to start and they were insanely tasty. We got a spice level of 4 on the salad and it was just right. Enough to make these seasoned spice eaters' noses run a bit without being over bearing. The chicken wings were perfectly crispy yet juicy inside and I'd put them up against even the tastiest of Korean fried chicken. For the main dishes, my wife got the equivalent of Cambodian pho (Cambodian food is similar to Vietnamese) that came with anis infused beef broth I could happily drown in, and copious panoply of meat chunks. The bowl was huge and not even the two of us could finish it off. I got the beef lemon grass stir fry which was excellently seasoned and the beef was cooked divinely. My wife ended up stealing a third of my meal because it tasted so good. The only downside was that the food was a little slow to come out, so factor that in if time is an issue, but we found the food to be well worth the wait. We will definitely be back and I can't wait to further explore the menu of this gem of a family owned restaurant.

What a treat!! The food was outstanding, the customer service was delightful, and did I say the food was outstanding already? My wife and I are both vegan and had plenty of great options. Our friends are omnivores and enjoyed their food too! I'll be back!

Excellent food, very tasty with a wide variety to choose from on the menu. Something for everyone including options for those who may have dietary restrictions. Gluten free and/or vegan options available without sacrificing flavor. Highly recommend!

Sweet Basil is such a gem in the Finger Lakes area! Clarissa is the kindest human and hostess, and cultivates such a special culture of belonging in her restaurant. Jay is incredibly talented, and can do no wrong in the kitchen- everything is phenomenal! I highly recommend the lettuce wraps and the Lort Cha!

Absolutely wonderful service and food. I love the depth of flavor in every dish I've had here and the owner is always so helpful with recommending dishes, flavors, and choice of protein. They are also top notch with accommodating various dietary restrictions, we are always able to bring a variety of friends here to have plenty of options. Such a favorite Dietary restrictions: Large ability to make dishes vegan as well as vegetarian

Sweet Basil is just incredible!! They are the most welcoming and make you feel like you are eating at their home. And the food!!! I had them pick my meal for me both times I have been there being open to whatever they choose. And both times it was nothing short of spectacular! The flavors and the combinations are so good you don’t want to take a sip of water to lose the taste. Second time I went they brought me Lort Cha, pin noodle stir fry, never had a noodle like that before, but I am going to be craving that dish for sure.Highest recommendation to eat there!! Wish I lived closer!

Was excited to try based on ratings, but was disappointed. Food flavor was decent, but not what we expected. A "zesty" pad Thai had no more spice than lettuce wraps. Missed the standard "kimchi" flavor with the Korean pancake. Perhaps just sautéed cabbage. Found hair in my meal that was not my color. :(. Was not a fan of herbal tea with pieces floating in it. Was only provided a fork. A knife/spoon would've helped with consumption. Tables were close together so if your neighbor table has guests who are not considerate about their voice level, you can not hear your own conversation.

I love the food and the owners! My absolute favorite Thai restaurant. If you wait a bit on occasion, that's just because they are preparing a home cooked meal. Fresh, healthy, not overly sweetened as Thai restaurants tend to do. My go-to for take out too. So happy to have Sweet Basil nearby :)
