This place, when it first opened, had tons of potential. It looked like it was going to be the local watering hole where people could actually walk to from their homes. Also, many of us hoped it would give the stodgy places in the vicinity a run for their money. Some of the establishments got complacent and took potential customer for granted. Unfortunately, this was not to be. Their first menu was excellent. It was a balanced pub menu with a lot of salads and healthy options. Then, something happened with that particular chef, and they abruptly closed. After a few weeks, they went to barbecue. The food was good but after a while got old. Then they went back to another menu, which wasn’t bad but uninspired. We ordered the avocado fries and while I don’t recall the cost, there were only a few fries on the plate. Disappointing. Recently, they abruptly announced that they no longer had food service. It wouldn’t be bad if they had a robust craft beer menu.
With 12 taps you think they could rotate the beers to attract the beer lovers..That wasn’t to be true either. At first, their selection was excellent and exciting, with a few beers that they kept on for the regulars who like the usual suspects (e.g. Coors Lite, Fiddlehead, etc.). But that stopped too. For over a year they have had the same nine beers on tap with two or three that they change out. It’s silly that they post the Untappd app entries on their monitors. With the same old beers on the menu, what’s the point of entering any beers.
At first, we tried to go there at least once a month or every other month. Liked the idea of a local place and we wanted to support them. But after a while, it got old. Once, the owner walked up to us and asked us what we thought. I gave him my honest appraisal. He looked at me as if I had three heads. Sort of making me feel like I was a complainer. I thought “OK, I’m not going to be giving you my business if you solicit my input and then make me feel like I’m a complainer.” But the biggest thing that bothers me is that they are not even trying.
sure, they have their regulars who are always there. But for the rest of us, loyalty is a two-way street. We haven’t been back in six months. As much as I want to support somebody local establishment that is in walking distance, i’d rather drive and go to someplace that values my patronage.

I've tried and tried again to like these guys. With the 4th head chef at this establishment since it opened, the food is mediocre, but tonight it was really bad. I ordered chicken tenders. They were burnt, way too salty, and super dry. The burgers I've had previously are mediocre on a good day. With three new restaurants coming to voorheesville in 2024, the owners need to seriously consider how they're going to make it serving bad food with an inconsistent menu. The owner told me to "come back because everyone has bad days." Yeah ok I get it, but bad days for weeks in a row? Time to move on. The only reason I kept coming as long as I did was because we liked the staff and it was 5 minutes from home. After tonight we're done. It's a shame.

Amazing spot!!Came here on a Friday night and no issues getting a table.The service is great! Welcoming and helpful!I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich! It was huge!!! Juicy and full of flavor.Came with tasty fries too.Wife had the cheeseburger and that was also delicious and juicy!We shared the baked Mac and cheese dish! And took some home! (Couldn’t finish it all)It was delicious!! Can’t say enough!The drinks were great too! The train deck and also the margarita!Overall great experience!! Will definitely come back!

Just came from the restaurant . The beer is always good . We've eaten here and have always been pleased .. Tonight we both ordered slaw and cheeseburgers , medium rare. They got it all wrong . We got 2 well done burgers and french fries. When. i returned. the burgers , the chef said he doesnt cook to the temperature and would not cook a burger to my satisfaction . I returned it and while there ordered a meal to go from another restaurant forrpickup . Also most of the menu is fried now . Very disappointed

northern barrell is an excellent fun atmosphere to have a drink and app at the end of the day.the bar tenders are also the owners! the quality and care they have for their customers is amazing. Its great having a local brewery in voorheseville where options are limited and has live music and an open mic night this brewery is an easy 10/10 i will be back.p.s its pet friendly

Road bikes on the rail trail and then got some food and a beer with my son, a friend and her son today. Loved the Bavarian pretzel, the hummus plate (with lots of yummy pickled things and toasted pita), and devlish eggs. The boys’ chicken tenders and fries were great too. Loved it all. There was a fun football crowd. The boys played a board game while adults got to chat. Awesome place.

First time visiting and eating here. Surprisingly, we were able to get a table. They had a good selection of beer and the food! Wow! The smoked meats were so delicious. We ordered the 1/2 rib, quesidilla platter. It was enough tonshare with 2 people, but i wish that i had more ribs. I can't wait to go back! It will make a nice destination dinner trip from east greenbush. They have an indoor and outdoor area to eat. Plus, in the winter they can close the 3 large garage doors and enclose the indoor area completely. We will definitely go back!
