Stopped in on a Wednesday. I believe Molto opens at 9. We walked in around 9:20. Went to order a breakfast bagel sandwich only to be told the kitchen wasn't going to open for another hour. i ended up ordering a scone. I was asked if I would like it warmed up and I declined because I don't mind a room temperature scone. When I opened the bag after I left, I realized the scone must have been in the freezer the night before. Which tells me the scone was not made that morning....
Definitely don’t get the same quality depending on who’s working I guess. I was in town last Tuesday and was very pleased. I ordered their largest size hot latte. It was silky and velvety and well worth the price. But.. definitely a hit or miss depending on who’s there that day. Otherwise it’s a relaxing place with lots of character.
I am an insufferable espresso snob - and tbh had low expectations for this place. I couldn’t have been more wrong: The quality of the espresso and milk foam in cappuccino was exceptional. I can’t remember having coffee this good anywhere in NYC.
