I would have to respectfully disagree with Chris Parker. I went to Braised Pies for the first time on Tuesday specifically to have the Cornish Pastie and I thought it was absolutely delicious. My mother was from England so I've had many pasties in my trips over there and this brought back the flavors that I remembered. I will definitely be making a return trip.

I recently visited a friend in the area who had some of the sausage rolls from here for us. They were so unbelievably delicious I had to stop on my way home to get myself some. The sausage rolls are simply to die for and the Cornish pasty was also delicious (with a side of brown sauce). I can’t wait until I’m back in the area for my next visit!

I’m gonna be honest here. I have not been able to eat because of stress. But my guy brought home a Cornish pasty, with perfect instructions on how to cook it written on the box, and for the second night in a row, i have woofed delicious calories down. This was phenomenal. What a find!!! Thank you!

Went to Braised Pies for the first time recently. Bought the chicken pot pie, Lentil Roll, Apple turnover. Was not disappointed in any. Wait staff was pleasant and welcoming. I would highly recommend! We actually dined in and did take out!

Absolutely delicious. I had a lentil curry pasty and shared a mince pie with my friend. That pie was so delicious. I can’t wait to have it again.

Had their hummingbird cake as well as their orange cake. It have only been a seasonal item but man was it delicious. Both were moist, not overly sweeten, and full of flavor. Fresh ingredients and quality are was we enjoyed from this quaint spot located in wappingers.

If I could give Braised Pies 100 stars, I would. Whenever I pass the store, I insist on stopping by to see what they have and what we can try. We have sampled our way through so many menu items - the sausage rolls (which are a must-have, absolutely incredible), Nutella swirls, lemon blueberry scones, honey apple cake, Cornish patties, lentil and curry pasties, spinach and feta pasties, blueberry blintz, the steak and ale pie (also a favorite), the scouse pie, the banoffee pie, several varieties of muffins - everything is incredible. Sue is so friendly, easy to talk to, and she makes us feel like old friends whenever we walk in the store. Her staff is so sweet and knowledgeable. There’s always a little sample of something new on the counter for a customer to “have a chew.” You can dine in and enjoy a chat with Sue, her family, and the rest of the staff, you can take your order to to go (and they will give you instructions for how to cook the food at home to ensure it is fresh when you are ready to eat), or have an event catered. They catered my birthday party this summer and were very accommodating to entertain our guests - she customized her menu items into individual portions to feed a group of more than 30 people. To put it in perspective, we walked in the door yesterday for 2 items and left with 10 for the weekend. Their business is unlike any other in the area - you will try something new that you’ve never had before and come back for more and then some. I cannot recommend this place enough - if you’re looking for somewhere new, charming, interesting, and delicious, please stop by - you will NOT be disappointed.

I had Braised pies on multiple occasions. The absolute perfect item is the sausage roll.

I wish the rest of the menu I have tried thus far was more consistent. I had the Shepherd's pie and it was delicious, but the potatoes were slightly dry.

The chicken pot pie was overly salted. The salt was overwhelming to the point of not being able to eat it. I’m unsure if this was simply a difference of taste given they are authentically British in approach.

The shop is lovely and the staff are so helpful, answering all my questions and advising on heating after thawing to properly cook items. They also have some delicious looking pastries that I honestly regret not buying, so I’ll have to return to try them out.

Update: the gluten free brisket and Mac and cheese sweet heat pie was perfect! If you can snap it up with the gluten crust do it! I didn’t realize it was gf and missed the crust.

Parking: Street parking only. At high traffic times try the lot behind Coupe Champagne and Wine Bar.

Braised Pies is a charming gem that brings the warm, comforting flavors of British baking to life in Wappingers Falls and local markets. After spending years abroad, I didn’t realize how much I missed this type of comfort food until I stepped through the doors and saw the yummy scones and Millionaire Shortbread sitting on the counter. Sue and her amazing crew bake the most delicious pastries/pasties and savory pies. The scones are served with jam, cream, and butter baked perfectly. Braised Pies is currently offering new seasonal flavors that shouldn’t be missed. The apple and pumpkin turnovers are absolutely divine and perfect for the upcoming cozy autumn season.

Sorry Sue, have to give you thumbs down on the 'cornish' pasties. My first one was incredibly salty and inedible. Oliver replaced it, and that one was less salty but barely/no hint of potato, rutabaga or onion. Just a salty beef pasty I'm afraid. Very disappointed, expected more for the money?

We met Oliver at the Goshen farmers market where he was selling his pies. We had a nice conversation and tried the sausage roll and some sort of mince pasty! The sausage roll was amazing!! If you love English food, or the great British baking show, you need to try these pies!

IMO, the mark of a good pie is a flakey, tasty crust, which Braised Pies knocks it out of the park. The service is warm, funny, and attentive. And the selection is extensive. I am very happy with our new find.
