Main Dishes
Biryani
A Sri Lanka specialty mixed rice dish that has an aromatic combination of saffron, cashew nuts, raisins and herbs.
Kothu Roti
A roadside specialty that is prepared by shredding flatbreads that are stir-fried with an assortment of vegetables, spices, onion, eggs and finished with curry sauce.
String Hoppers
Little steamed mats of rice vermicelli eaten with choice of curry.
String Hopper Kothu Roti
Rice noodles stir-fried with onion, ginger, garlic, cabbage, leeks, carrot and egg.
Hoppers
Hoppers are crispy bowl-shaped pancakes made with rice flour. These often come in different varieties and can be sweet or savory. A variation of the hopper has an egg added in the middle while cooking. Meal includes 3 plain hoppers and 1 egg hopper with a choice of onion sambal and curry.
Pol Roti
Pan-grilled flatbreads made with fresh coconut, onion and green chilies. Includes 4 roti, onion sambal and choice of curry.
Sri Lankan Special Fried Rice
Nasi goreng rice. Sri Lanka special fried rice is made with fried rice with shrimp, calamari and chicken garnished with spring onions, fried onions and fresh coriander spring.

House Specialties
Rice and Curyy
Served at lunch or dinner in Sri Lanka, this dish includes a meat curry, 2 vegetarian dishes with pickles. Traditional curries are made with a special house blend of spices and coconut milk and served with white or chef's special fried rice.
Deviled Specialties
Deviled is the generally given adjective for when something is highly spiced, this doesn't always mean it's necessarily hot. This dish with its spicy and rich test. Meat or seafood is sauteed with onions, peepers and traditional Sri Lankan spices.

A granish made with freshly grated cocnut, chili, lime and spices.
Brinjal Moju
Pickled eggplant.
Dhal
Lentils cooked in fresh coconut milk, turmeric and regional spices.

Stir fried rice.

The food is amazing and is exactly how I like to eat -- mostly veggies and some lean meats. Roti, samosas, biryani, goat, and tons of flavor. Very friendly and lovely people, highly recommend if you are in the area

I lived Newburgh when our gracious hosts Saman and Thanuja opened Red Pepper Diner. It's great seeing the success they so deserve.I cant single out anything special because I've enjoyed most of their menu. I'm originally from SriLanka and I can tell you they are the best in the business alongvwith their charming, very SriLankan hospitality. I wish them much success and counting the days till I enjoy a meal there...hopefully soon!

Red pepper diner is amazing! All the dishes are so flavorful. Love the artwork and decor. It’s a true Sri Lankan cultural experience. The owners are so warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!
