This restaurant is now The Bond. Overall the service was good. Was expecting to be seated in the Tavern however the tables they had were high tops . Not comfortable for older folks with bad knees. That said we were offered seating in a smaller area. The food was ok but the Lamb Bolognese was bland. My wife's dish of stuffed Portobello mushroom was excellent. Will try again.
After an outstanding experience some 3 weeks ago, we (a well-behaved family group of 7) were disappointed to find friendly but poorly-trained service (dirty dishes were not cleared between courses, wine was not poured, etc.) None of the dishes we ordered were outstanding - fried chicken was over-breaded and over-fried, lamb ragout was minced and tastless, stuffed mushrooms were short on mushrooms and heavy on cream, tuna tartar was fine, but nothing special. Don't know if the chef was on vacation or there were staffing issues, but the result was a far cry from our previous experience.
Very Good food & ambiance; and wonderful service!
Very clean and very cozy! We had a room with king sized bed and fireplace. They provide a duraflame (included w price) each night and even offered an extra if wanted. No wood, but the duraflame is perfect. I will point out that upon approach to the place there are some dilapidated looking places as you try to find entrance. PLEASE DONT LET this discourage you. The grounds they have are peaceful and tranquil, even as they are close to the downtown, which actually is a plus. You are centrally located to the area.
What a lovely Inn, the Merrill Magee. It's full of family history, and has a charming feel of quiet old-worldliness, but with all necessary comforts. Our room was big and airy and pretty, though the weather was too warm for us to light the fire. There's a pleasant sunroom with coffee and snacks. And friendly chickens outside by the deck, if you're lucky. Dan is lovely - when I mistakenly left my shoes behind, he shipped them on to me pronto before we flew out. A real gentleman!
Very nice place to stay. Not far from Lake George (15 min). Quiet, relaxing and a friendly manager. Overall very pleased with our time there. Will definitely book here again when in this area.
Wonderful place to stay. Very clean.
We had a great stay at Merrill Magee. Innkeeper Dan was very welcoming and got us settled. Room was clean and comfortable. Having fireplace in the room was nice too.
Great room with a fire place, bathroom is dated. Restaurant onsite was wonderful
We just stayed at this Inn this weekend. It was so pretty. I love the décor and it was very clean. The room was just perfect and the fireplace a great touch. It was so quiet! I know there were other guests but I never heard them. The sunroom was nice where you could get coffee, tea, and snacks. I would definitely go back here. It was a short ride to the Lake George town, where we took a scenic boat ride. I loved this area! Thank you!

Host was very nice and greeted have promptly. Place was clean, and very similar to bed and breakfast.. well without the breakfast. They do serve coffee and offer microwave. The lawn outside is also very nice to enjoy a cup of coffee. They have a butterfly conservatory on site, but was probably not breeding season.
Quaint bar and restarant Food fantastic upscale menu for small town! Service fabulous dinks good! Very impressed with this find! Would definitely go back and highly recommend . If you don't like fancy food great Burger offers and other dishes
Nice cozy atmosphere for dinner. Dinning is available both at the bar and dinning rooms. I've eaten in both and was very pleased with the service and food. Great selection of craft beers.
Very nice restaurant and nice location. Menu was very different but very nice. Service was outstanding and food was very good. Will definitely go back and highly recommend to others.
I had the Angry Shrimp -a spicy, cheesy interpretation on shrimp & grits. It was nearly perfect. One of the shrimps was a little underdone (but it wasn't raw). I happily finished everything on the plate, garnish and all. I'll definitely be back!
