This place has slowly went downhill over the past few years. There seems to be a weird tension between the orchard and the adjacent winery which complicates the experience. For example, if you park in the main parking lot at the entrance, you’re not allowed to access Apple Dave’s even though it’s literally right there lol instead they make you get in your car, drive a couple hundred feet, park in a field, and then you can pay to access it
I also noticed that the owner and operators aren’t receptive to constructive feedback. Instead of listening to customers, they act super defensive and tell you to go elsewhere. Super strange people
Such a fun place and inexpensive for the whole family. Apples were delicious.
Wonderful experience! Because we came on a weekday, we got to know Peter, the owner. He was great fun to talk to, and we felt very welcome. The apples we picked are phenomenal, and the hard cider and real applejack were also excellent. We’ll be back next fall.
The views are good to go with your family, but honestly the customer service from the 3 teenagers who work and serve the food at the bottom part of the the kitchen is the worst , you basically begging for buy something to eat ??
for the apple picking the staff is totally different they so much kind with people
The atmosphere and the view was great. The Applejack and cider were really tasty—highly recommend those. The food was basically concession stand quality. Plain, dry hamburgers with nothing but DIY store-bought ketchup, mustard, and relish. You might expect more given the quality of the place and the drinks.
Everything else was great. Enjoyed the live music and atmosphere, just don’t expect to get a nice meal when you come.
I also was not a fan of the $5 per person entry fee. I usually don’t mind a fee for something that includes an experience, like a state fair, etc., because I understand there is additional cost to provide that. But I don’t think the on-site experience justifies the fee if you’re just coming to pay for food and drink and listen to a little music. You can get that with no entry fee at many other places nearby.
I’m genuinely shocked they have this little stars on Google. This is literally the only apple orchard I gatekeep lol
My family and I had planned on a wonderful apple picking trip with my son who was visiting from out of town. Was beautiful weather and we were excited for a nice Sunday out. Unfortunately we were greeted by nasty and rude women who were working there . They raised their voice and did a horrible job of explaining the different pricing and why we needed to pay 25 dollars and 5 dollars to get in .they have no signs and were extremely inpatient in trying to answer simple questions .
We were then told to leave by the owner despite his employees behavior.we will never be coming back and would highly recommend going to another place.
Very disappointed.
Great experience! Not too crowded, beautiful views with a lake, and live music. Not sure why so many low reviews- it is a great apple picking orchard, and I would definitely recommend. The taco stand was a nice bonus.
Beautiful Location and fun times with live music, good alcohol, polite staff and of course the apples!
I must say it is a shame about all the poor reviews. Don't judge a book by its' cover. I was really skeptical given the rating but it turns out that maybe alot of the other reviewers are just sour apples!
Not sure what the drama is with the family but the split of this and applewood creates a weird vibe heard several staff members talking about it. I've been going for 10 years and today had horrible experience at Apple Dave's. I asked for water for our dog since their one dog bowl was disgusting and dirty...and the staff was cold & refused and just kept saying "against our policy, you can buy some" - When you encourage dogs to come visit, have some clean water for them! It's a necessity not an opportunity to charge people to buy water bottles. Be better about the environment! Was then called rude and cheap and the staff laughed at me. What in the world?! I'm not being cheap I was trying not to use plastic when possible. So should a farm! Definitely will find a new place to start going with friends - it's not worth the weird attitudes. When you are paying to enter & a premium for apples/drinks just have some basic water for the furry friends! Or don't allow dogs. And don't laugh at customers being called names! That’s not how you treat customers ... You just lost a long-term one.
Update - the owner response sealed the deal. We will not go back, after over a decade. All the owner has to say is there are other places to go. Really disappointing. Read all the criticism and the response is all the same, I guess they really don’t care long term guests have bad experiences.

Not sure why ratings are so low but this place is amazing. Great vibe, music, food, drinks, and more for the whole family. They deserve better stars here. I have been to a lot of farms and this is our favorite. A+
They charge 5 dollars per person to be allowed in the area where the food is being sold, and you have to buy a 25 dollar bag min to be allowed in the orchard
Such a hidden gem. Great for families, not too big, and a gorgeous location
First, I have to say Dave’s tacos are super good, please just go for the tacos. Second, the two ladies by the orchard are awful. They alone made the experience atrocious. We paid the entrance fee of $40 for a bag of apples. ( not my complaint) I have a 9 month old, so I waited by the shade ( because it was very hot) meanwhile my husband was filling up our bag for apples, my family was next to the tress, we were sitting down to by shade, not in the way of anyone or the tracker that was coming by to pick up people. The lady who was working the stand got up and yelled , “ you can’t be there get up and leave.” I told her my husband is picking apples we are just resting because it’s very hot and we have 4 toddlers with us plus an infant. They didn’t care, next to use was a couple taking pictures of a tracker INSiDE the orchard. The lady came by to yell “ get off the tracker” so we politely told her, maybe you should put a sign, she said yelled back, “ it’s common sense” we then proceeded to leave. Because my husband came back with apples. My sister said good thing you came back, the lady told my sister “ try not to be too loud” . So we just left the entire place. Horrible experience. There are no signs to say what apples you are picking. You can do so much better going a little more upstate. Terrible,
Great place to relax, try a new hard cider or specialty cocktail, and listen to live music
