Update: After sending an email to discuss what happened as well as for the refund. I have not received any communication back, they ignore my calls and owner never wrote down email to respond to.

I was excited to stay here after reading the reviews. Little did I know it would be a dreadful night.

I rented two rooms about a month ago and checked in around 7/8pm. The rooms that we were given were not up to standards. There was a comforter stained with what looked like blood, and both rooms had no heat. While the innkeeper supplied one room with heat, he never got back about the other heater. The rooms were dusted in white paint residue, and the floors were dirty as well. No trash can was available, as well as nowhere to put our bags except a closet that was furnished with a simple hole in the wall. I tried to communicate with the innkeeper, but after a while, he stopped answering my calls and just hid. I was freezing at night and had to layer on clothing. He was not there for check out or to answer any more of my calls. It's like he was overwhelmed and hid for the rest of our stay. This stay was not worth the 280 I paid to stay. I would be satisfied with a partial refund as the stay was not up to standards to what they provide. I hope they do the right thing.

A very basic hotel. The location is good and the price was reasonable but I would not stay here again and I'm glad it was only for one night.

Our room was absolutely nothing like the photos shown online, they were ones in the main building I guess. We had a room in the back detached building that should not have been rented out at all. Upon walking in we realized there was no heat installed and an old space heater by the bed. Which was corroded, cracked, and full of dust and lint. Safe right? Not to mention not a smoke detector or alarm in the whole place. To go along with no real heat and cold weather they had a sheet and thin blanket on the bed, no extras in the closet. There were no lightbulbs in the lamps, no trash can, thick layers of dust on everything. The shower and sink were dirty and the sink leaked all over the floor that had no rugs or mats available. Cobwebs with bugs in every corner. I could just keep going on and on. Management clearly does not answer their phones or messages to address any of these issues. It wasn’t just us by the way, we spoke with multiple families that had rooms on either side of us with the same problems. I fully plan on reporting you to the health dept solely on the safety of this place or lack there of. I suggest you make this right and refund the people you rented these rooms to this weekend and stop hiding and ignoring everyone.

My stay at this hotel was a complete disaster. I walked into a dirty room with stained linens and towels that looked like they’d seen better days. To top it off, there wasn’t even a trash can in sight, and the shower had empty bottles of shampoo and conditioner just sitting there.

The heating didn’t work at all, so the room was freezing, and the curtains were nailed shut—good luck getting any sunlight! The top door lock was broken, which made it a real hassle to open and close the door; only the digital lock worked, and that didn’t inspire much confidence.

In terms of water, we only had hot water in the shower—thankfully that worked—but the sink was a no-go. The windows looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in months, and there was a hole in the closet wall. Oh, and we were missing three lightbulbs, making the whole place feel super dim and unwelcoming.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Definitely not coming back!

Despite the bad experience at Colonial Pizza, we decided to stick with our usual ice cream stop when visiting Watkins Glen. They were busy with a line, but the wait was only a few minutes. The staff seemed highly stressed and flustered, which impacted the overall atmosphere. Service was just okay – not friendly, but not rude either. The ice cream itself was good. Given the entire experience, we’ll probably try a new spot next time.

Web site to book was buggy. Sent us on loops. They ended up calling us to clarify. We got to the hotel he showed us where our room was. We didn’t go in as we were hungry and went to dinner. Upon our return we went in and there was the odor of mildew. I washed my hands the sink was leaking. I looked for a trash can to throw the soap wrapper away and there was no trash cans. I went into the room my friend said look at the floors they are dirty. The blankets had crusty debris on them. The room had a space heater heating the room with no smoke detectors. I called the innkeeper Mario he said the hotel over booked and there wasn’t time to turn the rooms over correctly and there was no other rooms to offer us. I asked what we should do he said the company should give you your money back. We are on the line with hotel.com hopefully we get a refund and maybe compensated for the aggravation.

We didn’t stay here but my wife and I got ice cream one afternoon during our trip to Watkins Glen. It is a great place to get good homemade ice cream! Way better than the Ben & Jerry’s that is nearby. Skip the national name brand and get this ice cream. You won’t regret it!

The Biscoff ice cream is the best ice cream I’ve ever had!

Nearby activities: Pizza next door. Or I’m winter inside

Food and drinks: Next door in the summer is mikes for roasted pizza. Unbelievably good.

Stopped here for ice cream after dinner. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The ice cream was awsome all homemade options. Large portions. I would definitely recommend this place. Great spot to stop with the kids for a late snack after having a meal.
