After doing the Watkins Glen State Park hike we searched for the top rated restaurants in the area and stumbled upon this local hidden gem. This place will not disappoint you, it certainly exceeded our expectations. Firstly the service and atmosphere was very welcoming as soon as we stepped in, even the owner even came up to us to chat. Additionally it is right next to a marina in a very tranquil area! Secondly the food was delicious and great quality. We got the burger and the reuben sandwich and we were left without words. The corn beef was so nice and tender, it was without a doubt the best reuben sandwich that I have ever had. The fries and macaroni salad were delicious as well. I would highly recommend Oar House to anyone in the area from families to couples to whoever.

The best thing about Watkins Glen in the summer. If you like the feel of a dive bar at the end of a dirt road in the Florida keys then this is your place. Probably the best rueben sandwich I have ever had. Limited but tasty menu. This place is made extra special by the staff, especially the cooks, so show up if you want a feel at home atmosphere complete with some good-natured attitude. And don't miss their delicious Sunday morning brunch. Show up early!

I’m honestly really confused by all of the 5 star reviews. The service and atmosphere were great - I did not expect this restaurant to be both frog and Christmas-themed but I thought it was a lot of fun. However, I ordered the Bloody Mary because of other reviews that mentioned they were amazing and it wasn’t good at all, and I wasn’t impressed by the food either. Nothing tasted bad, but I don’t think the prices matched the quality and flavor. There are some great restaurant options not even five minutes north of here so when we’re in the area, we won’t be returning to this one.

What a delightful find! Felt welcomed by the host and by the owner. We had a Reuben and a Cuban sandwich - both fantastic. Fries were great, macaroni salad was great, local beer (no luck remembering the name, sorry) was great. And all-around win - bravo!
