Simply the best. We've stayed at Seneca Lodge for the Annual Vintage event for over a decade. We've been very happy with them.

We stayed one night in one of the cabins. Check in was great and friendly.
For $100 it was fine . Basic but clean. Bed was pretty old. Box spring and old so when one of us moved we both moved (like an air mattress).
Perfect location as you can walk into the state park and do the amazing gorge trail. It's a 5 minute walk to the trailhead at the south entrance.

The bar was very cool and I liked the beers especially the peach blonde.

Dinner was overpriced and disappointing however.
We had the deep fried scallops with fries , breaded shrimp with broccoli.
Portions were small for the money paid and left us disappointed. I think they are charging a premium for not having any local competition without going into town.
The place is ok but I wish we had eaten in town.

Stopped in for some prime rib and was not disappointed! You can ask for this horseradish mayo with it and it is really good. The aesthetics of the bar are really something. My grandpa had told me about it when I was a kid and it held up to the hype. The waitress was great and the rest of the staff were too.

If you're enjoying Watkins Glen, you should drive up the hill to Seneca Lodge. Very historic. Go to the bar. Check out all the arrows in the wall above the bar. Great selection of beer on tap. Good cocktails and the food is quite nice too. If you get there in the summer, spring or fall you can eat out on the deck which is truly wonderful.
