We had an impromptu stay in Watkins Glen on our way home to NC. We absolutely loved the hospitality of the staff at Seneca Lodge. The room was quaint and clean. The food at the Lodge restaurant was amazing, both for supper and breakfast. Can't recommend the cinnamon raisin French toast enough! Our server, Joyce, was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back!
We were looking for a brewery and the website says they are one. When we arrived we realized it was just a mediocre restaurant with beer that is brewed in another location. It was burger night and we paid over $20 for a burger that wasn't very good. Added $3 for a simple salad bar. Extremely overpriced restaurant for the quality of food. That being said, this restaurant is right at the entrance of Watkins glen state park campground, so that was convenient since we were camping there.

Came in for breakfast and ordered toast with bacon simple, right? Apparently not. My server decided to repeatedly comment on how “weird” my order was, as if my breakfast choice was up for public debate. I came to eat, not to be critiqued. A guest should feel welcomed, not judged, and a little kindness goes a lot further than unnecessary commentary. Hopefully management reminds staff that the customer’s order isn’t their business unless, of course, they’re the ones paying for it.
Locals told us this is a must see when in Watkins Glen. I loved the rustic and nostalgic building and decor. The bartender was friendly and helpful. Fair pricing on food and drinks. Salad bar. Outdoor seating.

What to say about this brewery? Driving up, you'd have no idea there's a brewery here. It's a 1950s-ish motel and restaurant styled in that outdoorsy cabin motif. Enter through the bustling big restaurant space, wind your way past the salad bar, and nestled in the back is this extremely unique bar. There aren't exactly two competing themes, but you can't miss either. The entire space of the bar and surrounding seating is all racing decorations (posters, flags, you name it). Watkins Glen race track's nearby, and this place is clearly dedicated to all things racing. Also, behind the bar are fifty million arrows sticking out of the wall like a vertical pincushion.
They had an amber or red ale on tap. It was good, and the bartender served up fresh ones automatically and without even being asked.

Simply the best. We've stayed at Seneca Lodge for the Annual Vintage event for over a decade. We've been very happy with them.
The best pumpkin ale! The tavern is a must see, filled with fun memorabilia. Friendly staff and clean. The dining room is cozy, lots of meat options in the menu. They have a small salad bar but I missed seeing a few entree salads in the menu. They do have a kids menu, my daughter really enjoyed it. We will come back!!
