The only reason for 4 stars was the on street parking. Coming thru the area, I Googled restaurants and was surprised to see one in Waverly? Could it be the same? It was! Great food, waitress helped me find what I had liked at other Garcia's. Nice friendly staff. Price was affordable.

I tried the Garcias in the Elmira area years ago and didn’t love it. I really wanted Mexican food for my birthday so we gave the waverly location a try and it was amazing. I’ll definitely be back many more times. I saw the bad reviews and I’m confused by most but I do agree the prices are high. Especially compared to places I’d go to in Texas but prices have gone up everywhere. It also doesn’t have any competition really like the ones in Texas so I guess it’s to be expected. The host and server were really nice and the foods presentation was really pretty.

The service was speedy, and the waiter was decent.....BUT,The food was NOT what I expected AT ALL! I have had better cold, 3 day old taco bell (if you've had the pleasure of enjoying true Mexican food you understand how "cringy" that is) The food was improperly cooked, as well as under seasoned. Nothing about the food was exciting, and in no way felt like authentic Mexican food. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also underwhelming. Prices were high, but that would be fine with me if the food wasn't subpar. My $18 Margarita was not bad, as well my $7 queso was pretty good.

AMAZING. Super excited this place is here in town now. We were pleasantly surprised. Growing up in LA around Mexican food we are pretty hard to please, but Garcia's hit the spot. We will definitely be coming back. Our servers though new were on top of everything and very personable. Please bring Mezcal cocktails. Can't wait to come back and try everything else. We had the Street Tacos and Burro. Everything was tasty. I would like to see the Burro wrapped up better so it can be held in the hands to eat. I wasn't too keen on using cutlery - haha! The torta is probably next on the must try list.

Service was excellent minus the lack luster tasting food brought out. No seasoning whatsoever. SAD VERY SAD.

Not crazy about the Day of the Dead mural, but highly impressed with everything else. HUGE portions, fair prices, delicious food. Worth every penny.
Vegetarian options: There is a vegetarian section on their menu.

Went to get my whole family of six dinner. Horrible food. All soggy. Nothing fresh. 120$ down the drain.

Food was pretty good. Service was awful. No one even greets you when you walk in the door then you wait forever to be served. The place is small and stuffy.

Our excitement quickly turned to disappointment. My friend and I made a special trip to Waverly to try the new Garcia's since our favorite one in Cortland closed a few months ago after a terrible fire. We absolutely loved the Cortland restaurant and I have to say the food at the Waverly location was just as phenomenal! The margs, salsa, Chile rellano, rice, and beans tasted exactly how they did at the Cortland location. However, we were very disappointed when the waitress/staff would not honor a gift certificate from the Cortland location that my friend had received as a gift prior to the fire. We understand it's a new business, but from what we learned, the cook came from Cortland and the owner is the same. The waitress was not very friendly from the get-go and she seemed very unsympathetic about our predicament. I wish Carlos would have been there because he would have recognized us and honored it for us. Not sure if we will be making the trip to Waverly again.
