Seven years ago, when I bought house in Long Island, my Italian neighbor was greeting me with pastry from Villabella. I fell in love with their “lobster tail” baking goodness, and every so often I would stop at the bakery to pick up some for my family or coworkers. This morning I came with my daughter and ordered 3 lobster tails for Saturday breakfast. The lady packed 3 lobster tails into the box as usual on the back without me seeing it and tied the box. Each lobster tail is now $7 which I don’t mind. After I picked up the box, it felt suspiciously lightweight. I asked the lady if she put 3 in the box, and she said she did. When I was trying to open the box to see what is there, the lady got upset with me. So, I brought it home, and when I opened the box, the pastry looked nothing like it looked before. It was brown in color (overbaked) and almost twice smaller than it used to be. And I am wondering why would someone owning business do something to get rid of customers? My daughter advised me to go to different bakery next time. People be aware.

This is by far the best bakery. I had gone for the first time this past Sunday and the minute I walked in it felt like home. It's run by an Italian family and their pastries were to die for. Brings me back to my Brooklyn days. I highly recommend and will be going back often. Ty for taking me back to my roots.

For the first time I went to the store because it was recommended to me and I bought 4 units and when I got home I opened the bag, it only had 2 units. What a bad experience I had with that lady and besides, it was terrible and maybe that's how racist it is with Hispanics.

Pastries were stale . When I told them about it they were rude and said not possible. Lost a long time customer. There are plenty of other bakeries.

I knew this place was completely legit when I walked in and was greeted by gruff older Italian women who spoke English with a heavy accent. This place is the real deal. It is the sister bakery to Villabate Alba in Brooklyn. You're not going to get things that you would find in a typical American bakery. This is an authentic Sicilian bakery. I see negative reviews from those that are expecting things they would find in an American pastry shop. Skinny s cookies, Cassata cake, authentic biscotti. ... This is what you will find here.

BE VERY CAUTIOUS OF THE OWNER SWITCHING VERY CHEAP HEAVY COOKIES INTO YOUR ORDER !! MAKE SURE YOU INSPECT YOUR ODER BEFORE SHE TIES THE BOX CLOSED.We were in Long Island for a wedding and went here to buy Italian cookies to bring home to Lancaster, PA for family. I showed her specifically what cookies I wanted and said I wanted 3 boxes. When I was not looking she put CHEAP junk, heavy cookies into the boxes. SHE knew I was from out of town and decided to take advantage. I am telling ALL my cousins In Long Island also.

I hand selected three 1 lb boxes of cookies but when I got home she had filled them with nothing that I had asked for . Although I paid for expensive Italian cookies I received garbage that I could have gotten at Kmart . She tied the boxes and gave them to me and I never realized it until I got home 4 hours away. when I called her she said she said something about bringing them back when I told her how far away I was she said she didn't remember it but would call me back the next day and never did. She knew I was trait of town because I told her how excited I was to bring these cookies home to my family

Stopped in to get 3 lb of Italian cookies to take home to pennsylvania. We Showed her specifically which cookies we wanted got home and she had filled the box with heavy cheap garbage cookies, not the expensive Italian cookies that I paid for.. When I called her she said she would call me back and never did. We spent $80 for garbage. She knew we were out of town and took advantage of my trust in her doing what we asked
