I've only been eating at Starr Boggs for a couple of years but every single experience has been incredible. They did an amazing job of reading the table and meeting all of our needs in exactly the time and way that felt best for us that night. The food is stellar and perfectly paired, there is never a reason to substitute because so much thought goes into the makeup of each dish. The amazing food is only made better by the wonderful sommelier and her ability to give perfect wine pairings. This is a restaurant I plan to visit for a very long time.

I have been eating at Starr's for 34 years; since he was on Sunset Avenue. I have never been disappointed with a meal or the service until tonight. I am really shocked. My meal was fine. But ,the bartender was discourteous. And, one of the staff members was disrespectful and rude. I am shocked. I hope Starr will recognize how things have changed and be careful which he sells to.

What a disappointment! Eat here only if you want to be mistreated by management and staff alike. Rude, aggressive and not out to please their customers. WORST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER! A simple request to return an overcooked steak escalated and we were forcibly removed from our table after they first pulled out food out from under us. After eating here for 20 years, NEVER AGAIN!

DON'T EAT HERE!! This restaurant staff and management needs to learn that customers decide the worth of a restaurant. Poor service, poorly trained staff and management (lousy culture flows down), rude and aggressive behavior all around. Used to be a nice place to eat (we've been eating here for 20 years) - but decent food is not worth being poorly treated and forcibly removed because we asked to have an overcooked steak remade rare, the way we ordered it. These are nasty, aggressive people who were poorly trained by both their management and their parents.

We have been eating here 20 years. Last time ever! Management rude and portions tiny. Cooked my $45 steak horribly. Rude when I asked to send it back. Asked to leave because we complained. Humiliated and discourteous...not what it was when Starr was in charge. Unbelievable how poor the new Management treats its long time customers. SHAME on you!!! I am embarrassed for you.

On a very busy Sunday we were very well served by a young man ( should have asked his name,sorry),always trying to understand and then fullfill our specific requests. The food was tops,all five of us enjoyed their choices. Congrats

Worst treatment I have ever received at a restaurant! We called ahead to confirm that their outdoor bar was first come first serve and were assured that the bar was and could accommodate us. When we got there every single spot was reserved! We were dumbfounded and when we inquired were told that Starr had a gathering at the bar on Thursdays for years! The information was passed on to us with such rudeness and attitude we were completely taken back. Like we were supposed to know that that was a recurring event for years but in the meantime, their own staff answering the phone clearly didn't know about it! The way we were spoken to was completely unacceptable. I have worked in restaurants in Manhattan for years and had I ever spoke to a customer this way I sure would have gotten fired and rightfully so! On top of it, we were regulars there for years. After this treatment, we will not go back unless they clean up their nasty staff!

After more than a year away during to pandemic concerns. we got a reservation for a Thursday evening, four of us returned for a highly anticipated fire dining experience. That didn't start well as the request for open air seating, accepted at the time of reservation, went unfulfilled because of "a large party booking the patio at the last minute." Boo! Hisss! The rest of the mean went well. Fish, fowl and a flank steak as part of the $35 prix fixe, were all good, as were the appetizers and dessert (especially the generous coffee crème brûlée with bits of chocolate), but the star of the evening was the exquisitely trained wait staff. This has always been a feature at Starr's, but our server, while young, was sublime and enhanced our return visit immeasurably!

Sad to see what happened since Starr left.. Go to Flora or The Patio. Poor service and a real attitude that takes away from the eating experience. Use to be good and hope they clean up their act.
