We found this gem, while on a road trip with the kiddies. The kids were so impressed with their food, they wanted to personally compliment the chef! Our servers were attentive and patient with our little ones. And the sweet tea was top tier!! (Made in house)

I ate during an off time with almost no other customers present as a lunch stop on a long drive from NJ to VT. Good food, inexpensive prices, and quick and friendly service. Very extensive pie selection. Almost stopped on my way back to NJ days later, but it was an early Sunday afternoon with an almost full parking lot so I assumed there would be a wait. Clearly, it is popular with locals too.
My husband got the Michigan dog with the home made fries and I had the chicken pot pie with biscuits. Both were excellent and the biscuits were flaky and totally enjoyable. Also had the lemon meringue pie which is homemade and it was an amazing way to end. The waitress was on point and friendly and made sure everyone was taking care of.

The big apple diner is the best place to eat in the great united state of America. The big rig burger is a absolutely mint find, the mint classic locals will give you a lot of good advice on local things. there was a maggot in my burger it was moving, but really that just added to the spectacular peculiar vibe. The food erupts in my gizzard box like Mt. Vesuvius of 1843. Ended my meal with a mint desert marlboro 100 on the classic mint porch. Talked to a trucker about the ins and outs of life and love and death. he honked his tooter box for me as he rolled into the mint upstate NY sunset. really just gave me a wicked half mast all around.Vegetarian options: one answer: eat some meat you liberal sissy trump 24 yayaParking: parking is mint I mean they got big rigs so...Kid-friendliness: a lot of mint classics keep an eye on your kid mama. they know how to get rowdy and have a mint time is all I will say

It’s the equivalent of The Last Chance Saloon in a cartoon, and it’s a long haul to Scrappy’s, and if it happens to be a Sunday Scrappy’s is closed and you’re stuck with lukewarm coffee and a stale $7 muffin at one of the public urinals/gift shoppes on Route 87. The Big Apple Diner is a bare bones establishment serving basic diner fare. The coffee is good but the staff is a bit stiff and time stands still as you wait 20 minutes to order coffee, another half hour to give your breakfast order, and another 50 minutes for your food to arrive. If you’re trying to kill time it’s ideal. But if you’re hightailing it home in time to pick up the dog and the mail, pack a lunch.
Asked for a sandwich of my own mixture, it came out perfect! My husband's meatloaf was plentiful and tasty and our waitress kept our coffee cups full. Enjoyed our visit and will return.

Only reason it runs is because it’s the only diner nearby to eat. Food isn’t anything special and it doesn’t smell good in there!
