We found this little treasure from a recommendation at an Air BNB. We loved that it opened early. It was a historic place in a cute little town setting. Our waitress was very nice. Prices were great. Food was excellent, and a great way to start our day!!

Have had breakfast here twice in the last month. Starting with a large mug of good, hot coffee, breakfast was great. Eggs, pancakes, bacon, buttered toast made a good meal. Caring servers and credit cards are done table side. Will continue to patronize this Whitehall gem.

So we toured around Whitehall NY, taking in the history of the waterfront and learning about the key historic aspects of Whitehall during the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. Amazing to consider that such intense history lives just below the surface of a seemingly-peaceful, secluded and work-a-day town like Whitehall! By all means, GO, learn and enjoy! Anyhow, we worked up a slight appetite, and from the website Historic Grounds seemed the perfect place for some historic coffee ('historic grounds', after all!!!...) - and just maybe a shared slice of something sweet. Website says open to 3pm. We were good, it was 1:50pm.... or so we thought. Upon entering we were advised the cafe closes at 2pm. so we were thus summarily rejected without any conciliatory inclination or comments. it was pointless to advise that the website said open till 3pm, and since it was only 1:50pm, technically the cafe was open and should have been taking customers. We were just looking for coffee and a slice of cake! Too bad, seemed like a lovely place. Will we return and circle around? Don't think so! But by all means, YOU go and give it a try. Just don't rely on the website for their open and reject times.... Maybe call ahead and agree in advance on what time works for them.

Unfortunately closed with no sign of reopening. Great place, in many respects. Atmosphere, food,ambiance. A real winner right on Main Street in Whitehall. Many sad customers who wish it would reopen. Please.........

Really nice place had lunch at the bar was very good I hope that they can make a go of it. I think the the barmaid was a nice person but maybe a little to young they need to change something to get people in the door they put a lot of money in this place it looks great good luck

Love music and a cute outdoor area with corn hole is nice. The inside decor almost appears as a strip club so I'm certainly not to into that when I want to go out for a drink and some food. The food is decent bar food but with that being said it's a little over priced.

The food was not good. Menu apparently is not updated according to the server so our "chili nachos" came without chili... they were a plate of chips, a handful of cheese not completely melted, some jalapeños and olives and a little sour cream. We sent them back and opted for the quesadilla which was better but still not great. Another person with us ordered mozzarella sticks that came without marinara. The pretzels were ok. I would say come here for a drink and live music but that's all.

Absolutely terrible. One of the worst places I have ever been. Food took literally hours to get & was horrible!! Service very poor & slow. Many left after 3 hours of waiting & less than half of out party was served food. The food that actually came was awful. 3 in our party ordered hamburgers & they served one with 2 top buns & the other with 2 bottom buns & served one with a hamburger on a plate with half a bottle of ketchup squirted on the plate surrounding the hamburger. Negative 1 star- wish I did not have to give one. Never again!! Was really strange & food a disaster.

I wish I can leave 0 stars. Not only is the food overpriced , it was disgusting as well. You might as well go to McDonald's! The staff looked like they belong on a street corner in the Bronx. I swear they looked like hookers. I thought it's supposed to be a sports bar? I won't be back!

Came with my boyfriend a few days ago and I will say , this place is horrible. Very bright with flashing lights all over. Gave me a headache. People say it looks like a strip club. It does. The red decor and mirrors are low class. I figured we would give the place a try despite what everyone says. Trashy looking staff. Bartender was very slow and not friendly at all. The food was very greasy and was a crappy quality. We had taco egg rolls and cheeseburgers. Food is overpriced. Drinks were light and very overpriced! I'd rather go to a nicer & non trashy place like Maxwells!! Don't waste your time or money at this dump
