We love having tea at the manor and looking around

Hidden gem with the LOVELIEST volunteers who make the food from scratch! The sandwiches and desserts are incredible and they have about 100 tea choices. It's a delightful place for a date, ladies lunch, group outing, or family stop! There are free tours of the castle and the structure is beautiful and seeped in history. 10/10

What an excellent place to visit! My wife, kids and father visited August 2022. The building is in the process of being restored, but all areas were open for viewing except the basement and restaurant kitchen. You can eat at the cafe inside but we opted to take the FREE (donations accepted, and you should) hourly tour. Our docent was pleasant and knowledgeable about the history and restoration. This place is totally unique and worth the visit if you are near Whitehall! Just call ahead to confirm hours.

Run, don't walk to this incredible historic castle. What a wonderful experience we had here. The restaurant was lovely, the tour was amazing and the passion for this great house and its history was unparalleled. Make this your destination and don't forget to take in the view from every window!

The hours of operation are very limited, but was able to get a tour. The people there are volunteers and they do their best to deliver a great experience. They have added a restaurant on the main floor to gain extra revenue. We visited many years ago and it seems like they changed the story of what happened, but I can not confirm if they did. It is a great piece of history to check out and it didn’t cost anything other than time. We made a purchase in the gift shop to at least help with their time and experiences.

It’s always wonderful to see a preserved historic home. Nice coffee shop. The gift shop needs some attention. Wonderful view of the town from the Manor up the mountain.

If live by the Skene Manor, please consider volunteering there. This manor is managed by volunteers who did an amazing job at serving us and teaching us the history of the place. They are always looking for people who are willing to come join their team and keep the Manor open to the public. Nice place to come to have soup, sandwich, and tea/coffee.
