Utopia has some of the best bagels that I have had in New York City. They have a great selection of vegan and dairy free cream cheese options. The plant-based egg sandwich was incredible. I highly recommend this place.

First, to be honest, the bagels are good. Other than that, I hate this place. The music is always blasting, even at 6 o’clock in the morning, so you have to yell your order at the person waiting on you. Their system is extremely disorganized and slow. The mixed cream cheeses in the display case look like they’ve been sitting there for a month. They’re discolored and gross. More often than not, the people taking your order are disinterested and rude. I’ll live with a lesser bagel rather than go there again.

The staff is so nice! Even when inundated with a huge tour group, they were fast and very kind. They recommended the best bagels to get with our chosen sandwiches and seemed excited that we were trying their favorites.

So disappointed! I picked up a jalapeno cheddar bagel which was tasteless and soft and squishy. The bagel was of the same quality you would get in a pre-packaged bag containing six bagels at the supermarket. I gave two stars because the store was clean and the man who served me was extremely polite and friendly.
