Well for the price I was extremely surprised with the quality of wine. Worth every penny ! Something for everyone. I would go back to get more ! Thanks John for the tasting and backstory. I give the wine a 9 out of 10 !Tastes as good as a 92 to 94 rated bottle that I’ve seen sold for twice as much.

Black Sheep winery is a lovely venue found in a beautiful and quiet country setting. The quality of the wine produced there is only outdone by the genuine friendliness of the owners. It’s a place where you will instantly feel like a welcome guest and part of the family. They offer tastings of their whole selection of wines which ranges from complex dry white and red varieties to sweet options that will make a wine fan out of anyone. They also offer bottles and glasses at very reasonable prices. The large and comfortable space has extensive outside seating overlooking the countryside as well as rustic and charming indoor seating. They host many great events and offer a great location for private parties. If you are in or out of the area check them out!

My wife and I stopped at Black Sheep when in the area for a funeral for a family member. John was very helpful, kind, and knowledgeable, and we had a great chat about the area, Illinois, North Dakota, and everything in between. I don’t usually leave reviews but I had such a fantastic experience here that I felt obligated to share it with others. My gf and I have visited many different wineries and have had so many great experiences over the years but our night out tonight was really special. The owners (John and Becky) were so friendly to us that we immediately felt welcome and right at home. We initially sat outside on the wrap around deck once we got there where the view is spectacular and relaxing. Once the music started we ventured inside and had an amazing night listening live music and meeting new friends (Wayne and April) just to name a few. We’ve already planned our next night out there and I’m sure there will be many more after that!!! Thank you John and Becky for treating complete strangers like family!! Mark.
