It's a beautiful setting for a family meal, with reasonably good food and friendly service. It would be nice if they were open more than just the absolute bare minimum, though. A 7pm closing time seems rather absurd, as does being completely closed on both Sunday and Monday. Not everyone is a traditional by-the-book, clockwork Mennonite family, guys. We don't all make it to dinner precisely at 6pm to be done by 7 and in bed by 8.
The atmosphere was very nice and had an old fashioned feel. The service was okay, we had a big party but felt kind of like an inconvenience to get water refills or more rolls etc. The buffet is great if you really like homemade types of meals featuring casseroles and gravy and lots of meat options. Some of my family is pescatarian and there was not much that was appealing, even the salad bar was underwhelming. Really nothing for young children. The fries and tenders were definitely...
