Wish they made it much more clear this is for members only. This does not show when looking through restaurants online. Wasted trip. Not against a private restaurant, can’t say I’ve heard of one, but should be made very clear.

We celebrated my husband’s 40th with a trip to Inn Walden and visited The Barn for dinner. The space was cozy, yet modern and the staff was lovely. Our server provided great recommendations and was incredibly friendly. The cocktails were delicious and we even got an amuse bouche and outstanding focaccia bread to start our lovely meal. My husband ordered the French onion soup and filet and everything was done perfectly. I got the Cesar salad and scallops and was very pleased. It was the Friday before Christmas, so the restaurant was slow, which may have given us some extra attention, but I wouldn’t have minded if service was slower as the ambiance was great and food was very worth it. We can’t wait to come back!

First time here and last. We decided to try the buffet after are drive out to the Ramsey farm fall festival. The food is very bland and dry and awful. Cold apple cobbler that looked like some on thew up on. The driest meat loaf I mean it was dryer then the bread we ate. Are waitress came to our table one time the hour we were there and another 30 min to chase down someone to get are check. $50 for 2 adults and a child I would pick McDonald's over this if your even thinking about going. Hands down the worst restaurant I have been to all year! You might wanna think about closing up shop.

Do you still need to be a member to eat there? I remember I got kicked out because my wife/ girlfriend at the time weren't members

We used to love our trips to Walden and Barn. While service is still great, which is super hard to find anywhere else, the Barn restaurant experience didn’t hit the excellence mark. Appetizers: selection is Boring. The lobster was “fishy”, the olives are boring, and the baked Brie was good Main dish: fillet was great but the peppercorn sauce was bland. Similarly, the veal was great but the sauce was bland again Deserts: macadamia nuts tart was very yummy Hopefully, the new chef will change the appetizer menu soon.

I have been here before and had Mark as a server he is very attentive and goes the extra mile asking for food allergies or preferences. I really appreciated his attention to detail and making sure what I ordered was exactly as I wanted it. The food is consistently delicious and the atmosphere is peaceful and beautiful. I’ll be back.

This was our first visit to the Barn. We were guests at the Inn at Walden (which we absolutely loved!) but we’re sadly disappointed. The barn atmosphere is gorgeous, our waitress was friendly, but the dinner took nearly an hour and a half to be served and the restaurant only had four other tables full. Definitely not a busy night. The real disappointment was the food itself. My husband gets a filet pretty consistently when we go out and this was the first we’ve had that had no flavor, the mushrooms were flavorless as well. I had the lemon chicken linguini. I can honestly say I’ve never had pasta that bland. It had what I believe was a light coating of butter and that was it. The food just didn’t have any life or passion to it. Energy-less. You fellow foodies know what I mean. It just lacked any depth or flavor. My cosmo was great tho! And they ran out of bread, so we couldn’t fill up on the bread basket lol. And as I said, the place was not busy at all. Wish I could have given a better review because we loved the inn and Walden as well as the spa. But sadly the barn disappointed.

My family and I were very excited to try out the new menu at The Walden Barn in Aurora last night and WOW- it did not disappoint!!!! The new makeover is so elegant and relaxing. Nice fireplace as you walk-in with chairs to sit by and the bar area is very accommodating. To start, I had the New England Clam Chowder, and my wife and daughter split the wedge salad with White French Dressing. The dressing is simply delicious! Not many places have the White French Dressing. We also shared the stuffed peppers which was made perfectly- very large portions too. For dinner, I got the 10 oz. Steak Au Poivre with the peppercorn sauce- wow- this was fantastic! Even put some of the sauce on the whipped mash potatoes too. My wife got the pork chops and our daughter got the 6 oz filet mignon. Everything was cooked perfectly and was very satisfying! For dessert, we all shared a creme Brulee and I got a chocolate martini for a night cap. If you are looking for a romantic date night or a nice time out with the family- the Barn in Walden is the place to be in Aurora! We are so excited to be returning very soon!

The food was good. A little cold. I also think you can make the argument that it was a little over priced. Great ambience.
