Not one to write reviews but this felt necessary. My family placed a takeout order this evening at the Avon Lake Dairy Queen. We arrived a few minutes after the time it was supposed to be ready, expecting to wait a little but were the only ones at the counter upon arrival. We were told our order was just getting finished up and were pointed in the direction of our order being made by one of the workers, who then immediately ditched our orders. We stood there waiting for our order, being the only ones in there for a good 5 minutes. Customers started to pick up, all starting to get their orders made before ours was even finished. We asked the worker who initially told us about our order if it was almost ready, only for them to have to figure out amongst the staff what was left to be made from our order, while the rest was melting. Our order was finally ready, so my mom asked to confirm that they had made her blizzard correctly, especially because she paid extra for the topping she wanted. They said it was made correctly and we got home and it was completely wrong. No greeting when we walked in the door. No communication between workers. The staff seemed to be a mess with no coordination and did not have good customer service skills whatsoever. I know the owner of this Dairy Queen probably won’t care, because the reviews have stunk for years, but just in case they care about customer service, or their reputation, they may want to change some things.

The staff here is excellent! They handled my large order with several customizations with no issues whatsoever. It was super important to not have nuts on my parfait, and they handled the request perfectly. They were friendly and fast and everything they made was delicious.

I came in with my husband on on Tuesday evening December 2nd around 5 pm. It was empty inside with several cars in drive thru. We dined in. 5 employees were working at this time up front. My dine in order was rudely dropped on our table in a bag by one of the employees.. My cheese burgers were cold. The atmosphere was dingy. They were obviously getting high in the bathroom!! It appeared that no one was in charge because they were all clueless with crappie looks on their faces. I literally felt like I was burdening them with my order. With 5 workers on site my cheese burgers should have been hot. Employees are Simply not being managed or trained in customer service correctly at this location. I'm embarrassed for who ever actually manages this Dairy Queen. You guys need new sufficient workers so you don't have to pay 5 employees to stand around and gossip acting like their doing something. I'll go to the Dairy queen across town.

The banana split was good. As far as fast food goes, DQ is the lesser of two evils.
everytime i get a blizzard from here the ice cream taste horribly freezer burnt.
i asked for a blizzard that has COCOA FUDGE in it, and EXTRA, and the worker proceeded to put NONE in my blizzard and gave me attitude at the drive through.AND charged me extra for the extra cocoa fudge even though she put none in. fire this worker immediately. this took place 10 minutes ago on august 22, 2025, at around 9:30 pm ish.
Enter if you dare!! Ordered an ice cream cake to pick up. The place is absolutely disgusting! None of the young girls working there acknowledged me for about 2 minutes. Idk how anyone can eat in there, it's completely filthy. Not sure where the health dept is but good Lord!!! 🤢 I contemplated leaving without the cake, was that bad in there.

came to have dinner with my husband. Never again. stood and waited. Young kids only worried about there drive thru. No direction , running over each other. People come in stood at counter for 10 mins without being taking care of. sad. need an adult to be here directing them.
The way the Manager Danielle speaks to the employees is horrible, there is a way to correct employees without being rude and without doing it in front of customers. Please send her to management training.

This place is apart of the problem Rainbow baby’s target minority’s and unions etc but it businesses like this that help keep the corruption etc going It’s a reason No POC runs these company’s because they want to keep it a certain color businesses have stop donating because of everything bad they are doing to the community. I went to the Dairy queen with my grandson. I had 2 coupons for either a free small sundae or upgrade to a small blizzard for 2.00.
I placed my order at the speaker for 2 blizzards. I said I have coupons for them, ok pull around.
I hand her the 2 coupons and 4.00. The blizzards are in a carrier she handed me.
I said thanks, and she said I can only use one coupon per person. I said that there are two of us. She said she didn't care that's our policy.
I am still holding the carrier out the window. She asked me what I wanted, I said drive away and enjoy them.
She said no I will throw them away.
Shut the window. I waited and waited.
Finally someone else came to the window. I asked for the coupons and 4.00. She did.
I was pissed, I went back and said I would like to speak with the manager.
She said she was the acting supervisor and that I was wrong. I said please call someone, the other girl said NO . I said out of anger, you're a jerk. Once again someone else came to the window. And said one coupon per customer! UGH there's 2 of us. Please call someone I have NEVER had this problem before. And I said I'm sure the owner would like to know you threw them out and waisted money. Instead of reading and comprehend what it says.
The girl i called a jerk earlier SCREAMED MY DAD IS THE OWNER AND YOU ARE NOT GETTING HIS NAME AND GET OUT OF HERE. She said you called me a jerk.

The kids that work here are great, such a large menu and high demand results in slightly longer than average wait times. However these kids do great serving the community.

Does not do samples so if your on the edge don’t ask and when they tipped the blizzard it fell out of the cup
Lots of immature kids disrespectful always messing up on the orders won't be coming back this place of has went downhill
