While we had to wait for a table, it was quite pleasant. We were offered some free beer as we waited. Once we got to it table, free fries! You truly do not expect any competitor waiting, so wow! I had the perch fry. There were five, good sized fillets, fries and coleslaw. Takes me back to when my mom had her Lake Erie perch fries for thr family. Such a cool atmosphere! We have only eaten on the patio previously, but it is equally great inside. If you are inpatient, don’t go. But, I am telling you, it is absolutely worth the wait. No ohoyos, I dug in asap! We drove an hour one way and do not regret it! Go!

My biggest complaint is the presentation of the food itself. It’s is very boring to look at & lacks personality.

Kind of a failed presentation I've lived in the area almost 30 years and I've only been to this restaurant bar maybe five times. I'm not sure why....well... there are some other great establishments around. This Wednesday evening had some nice specials with chicken paprikash. It's was very good. It's a small place but many seats at the bar. I walked in. There was one two top open and the whole bar was open. we enjoyed a seat at the bar. The bartender was very nice and provided us with great service. However, I will say top to bottom, there can certainly be a little polish added to the product. The price of the wine is very reasonable, a limited selection but adequate.. staff are not at all educated in presentation. Easy fix. Cut the foil off the top of the bottle and leave the cork off. Coursing. The main course came out before the salad.. just a flubbed job that could have gone so well. Everything that went wonky this evening is incredibly easily fixed. Crew was very kind and engaging. A very nice crowd. And some of the food that was coming out of the kitchen looks spectacular. Maybe next time it will be the perch fry and many people had the wings.. very nice neighborhood asset. Again, just a little polish, and this place would take off

this place is always a great experience - the crowd alone should tell you that it's a hot spot. specials go fast so try to get there early. it's very busy as I said, so make time for a wait unless you make a reservation! great local place for fish and cocktails! cheers to Jake's on the Lake!
We had our rehearsal dinner at Jake’s on the Lake, and it was absolutely perfect! Annette was amazing to work with—so accommodating, friendly, and professional. The crew was stellar, and the service was top-notch. The waterfront setting was breathtaking, especially with the gorgeous sunset, creating the perfect atmosphere for our celebration. The food was incredible, and our guests couldn’t stop talking about how delicious everything was. Annette and her team were so easy to work with and made sure all of our requests were met, from customizing the drink menu to curating a food spread that everyone loved. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue or team to make our rehearsal dinner unforgettable. Highly recommend!
