EDIT : If you asked me prior to today where my favorite coffee shop is, I would have told you here. After my experience today, I don’t know if and when I’ll be able to return.I ordered a cake pop and a coffee while we looked over the menu and decided on lunch. When I sat down and took a bit of my cake pop, I noticed that it smelled bad and then tasted bad… really bad. I thought maybe it was the green sprinkles or something but inspected it closely. Where the exterior of the cake was underneath the icing was covered in green mold. Not a little, completely covered. I immediately spit it out and went to the bathroom to rinse my mouth and throat since I’m highly allergic to mold. I showed the women at the front and they promptly refunded my $3 and brought me a $5 gift certificate. Then we ordered our food. My food was good and hot, but my friend ordered the chicken sandwich and when she bit into it, it was still pink. They replaced it but forgot to put any bacon on it when they remade it.I then ordered a to go order for my husband. The chicken salad on a croissant and waffle fries. The crowd had cleared out and it had been a little over 35-40 minutes since I ordered and saw any food come from the kitchen, so I asked if they could check. I realized that about 15-20 minutes prior an order had been brought down in a black to go bag but assumed that it was someone else’s since no one brought it to us. The woman who had helped us with the previous issues told me that it was sat at the front. I stated that I wanted to check to make sure that it was still warm since it had been sitting there for a while. She stated that the chicken salad was cold, but I was referring to the waffle fries. I felt some heat still coming off of them and we had been there long enough so I figured that I’d warm them up once I got home. Frustrating that you have to do that but I just wanted to leave at this point.Hours later, I’ve taken multiple benedryl and my throat and face are still itchy from the moldy cake pop. My husband has had some mild food poisoning this evening. I know that his food didn’t sit long enough on the counter to make him sick but not sure what temp it was at before that. This is not how we planned on spending our Saturday evening. We had to leave an event early because of the food we chose to eat.Previous review:I just absolutely love this place. Their chai tea lattes are great. Best cake pops ever. Love the breakfast sandwiches and quesadillas.

The river view with coffee on a cold morning was amazing! A cappuccino & maple pecan latte were fun for the morning, sipping as we looked down at the river. My croissant sandwich was delicious, but the salad was rather plain and lacking for $14. While the servers were friendly, they were unsure about our order (1 thought a cappuccino was a latte), and they were not able to identify if there was gluten in the salad dressings (nor did they offer to check). I recommend the coffee on the river though. Not really any gluten-free options, besides grilled chicken tenders or a salad. Update: visiting several months later and it’s still a bit awkward with the staff, but the coffee and food are good.

SO GLAD we finally stepped in for lunch! This place is a delight. The coffee and food were fabulous and coupled with the intimate setting, it is very unique. The building was built in 1890 and still set up into individual rooms, each with a slightly different atmosphere and a few tables to choose from. We sat in the back where were could watch the river rush by. Just what we needed! The service was very fast and the food was really great. They are in the process of adding a sports bar in the building next door for those who like that sort of thing. Sounds fun! A lovely surprise in the little Village of Batavia—check it out, it's worth it!

Love the vibes. Food is good but expensive. The coffee is unfortunately subpar and expensive. With no WiFi, my friends and I won’t go there. Plus the hours are weird for serving alcohol (close at like 5) and they miss some of their audience by not being open for coffee before work. Lots of potential but they are missing a few pieces that could really make business boom even more. Prime location though!

My wife and I stopped in today with Christmas just around the corner. The environment is warm and homey as well as beautifully decorated for Christmas. They have a great selection of seasonal drinks and stouts to choose from. The employee who served us was friendly, helpful and greeted us with a smile. I ate two of the sausage, egg and hash brown croissants with the mango habanero jam and they were DELICIOUS. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely amazing food, the atmosphere is awesome, and the staff is great! Highly recommend. Got to meet the owner and he showed myself and a couple friends the plans of expansion and this place is going to get even cooler! Definitely give this place a chance and try it out!

This morning, I ordered a bacon egg and cheese bagel for $8. It came with Mayo and tomato I didn't ask for it.I'm really upset with the 2 small pieces of bacon. Didn't even cover half the sandwich.
