I've been to Akashi before and had a great experience. I was just looking for a quick relaxing bite to eat and found Ariake. Has a great atmosphere and the service was incredible as soon as I walked in, very friendly and helpful. They were out of an ingredient that caused me to have to alter one thing I had ordered, and even so I had a great meal. They came back and explained to me and helped me pick something else. I can't say enough good things about this place. I go into most "Japanese" restaurants and ask if they have Gyudon or Karage chicken and get funny looks, like they've never heard of it, this place serves it, as well as other authentic Japanese food, there's more to Japanese cuisine than sushi, sashimi, and ramen.

Nigiri was amazing. No hints of vinegar or citrus juice which usually indicates old or poor quality fish. Rice with fish was warm/room temp, soft and sticky. Wasabi (standard imitation) was good quality and taste as well. Roll was high quality just as the nigiri.
