We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very friendly and assertive. We loved the large beautiful room and had our own private balcony and large updated bathroom with a tub. Everything was spotless. We had dinner in an igloo at sunset and it was an amazing experience. While we did have a great experience, there were a few things that could have made our stay even better…. To start, there were practically no channels on the TV. We wanted to watch a movie on AMC but couldn’t. Also, the shower head was old and clogged so it felt like a light sprinkle rather than a stream of water on my head so it took twice as long to rinse. The dinner service started off rocky as we waited 20 min in our igloo for someone to come out to the table (I had to call the restaurant to remind them that we were there). But after that, they really stepped the service and all was great. I ordered the strawberry salad with chicken and it was excellent. My husband was pleased with his steak and we both enjoyed some bites of the coconut chocolate homemade cheesecake for dessert. The only other issue we had is that they didn’t ask us any questions about preferences at breakfast.. they just served us dessert like waffles with Carmel toppings and sausage (I don’t eat sausage and do not prefer to eat that much sugar for breakfast). So I had asked them for some eggs.. they were happy to oblige but returned with partially cooked scrambled eggs which I had to send back. Once the eggs came out a second time they were delicious. All in all, we really liked the Wishmaker House and would recommend this place to others.

The most expensive and disappointing meal I think I've ever had. We were part of a large group, but we preordered from a limited menu. The appetizers were good, especially the mushroom soup, but the wines were not good. Cabernet shouldn't be sweet. The dinners were very disappointing. The steak was overcooked twice and the mashed potatoes were runny. The salmon was dry and overcooked. The Tuscan pasta was barely warm and contained exactly 3 spinach leaves and none of the roasted tomatoes and the sauce tasted like it came from a jar. The cheesecake relied more on quantity than quality. Despite ordering ahead of time, food came out very sporadically and some people were eating dessert before others got their dinners. My bill came to $63 for a single meal and I could have eaten better at home for a week for that. This was not the fine dining experience I expected to have.

Bad food, bad service and some of the worst wine I've ever tasted ?. For the prices they charge you would think they would take some pride in the food and or service. Cute little building but beyond that not worth stopping it.

This was our first visit and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and courteous, and our room was spacious and nicely appointed. We dined in the restaurant as well and our server Hanna did a great job taking care of us. We are looking forward to going back in the fall.Rooms: The rooms are spacious but very well appointed.

Disappointing Stay!Took my wife to stay the whole weekend for a late Valentine's getaway and was highly disappointed with the overall experience.Friday night, we wanted to do the wine tasting with dinner/cheesecake. While we were having our tasting, the owner came out and told us the kitchen was being closed and the staff was being sent home. I asked if we could at least have a piece of cheesecake, and we could have dinner on Saturday. We were told NO. I then told him we were staying there for the weekend, and the only thing he could say was, "I don't know what to say." He then told us of a bar down the street where we could get food and drinks! (I don't know if he said this because we look like a younger couple, but I was highly offended) I brought my wife to have a romantic weekend away, not go to some bar down the street. We ended up ordering a pizza and eating in our room for the night.Saturday, we planned on venturing out for the first half of the day and ending our evening with a nice dinner & dessert. While we were leaving, the owner saw us and introduced us to his wife as the couple that didn't get our food or cheesecake the night before; they just laughed it off. We got back from our day around dinner time. We were told earlier for dinner to just let the hostess know we were staying there and would like to have dinner and we would be seated (this was after I specifically asked if we needed reservations, but figured this was there way of making Friday night right by us). The lady ended up seating us at the very end of the bar in the small tasting room! My wife and I are guests staying for the weekend, and we were seated at the bar with little to no service. Once the waitress finally came to take our order, we ended up just ordering cheesecake and a bottle of wine (who wants to have a private intimate dinner with your wife sitting at the bar). It took forever just to get our cheesecake, and we still did not have our bottle of wine, so we waited a bit to start eating to see if it would come. It did not, so we ate our cheesecake with no wine and got to listen to the bartender and waitresses complaining the whole time. Once our bottle finally came, we told the waitress we would like the check and we would just take the bottle to our room. She looked at us funny, and we then proceeded to tell her that we were staying there for the whole weekend. She said, "Oh my, no one told me this. I'm so sorry. " It was before 7 pm, and we were in our room eating cold leftover pizza from the night before!I travel for work and am only home every few weeks! I booked this place to have a wonderful weekend with my wife with no kids, hoping to have a wonderful, peaceful, intimate time. It's very disappointing being treated this way when, in fact, at any chance anyone there had the chance to make it right. We would have had better service staying at a Holiday Inn, for a whole lot less!We will not be back!

We waited an hour and a half for 2 flatbreads and a burger. The burger had 5 onion rings that were cold and the breading was barely cooked. The flatbreads came out cold as well. Service was very very slow, had to go to the bar to get our own refills as well. If I could rate a 0, I would.

My last time there, waited 2 hours for a hamburger, when they brought it out there was no meat on it. That's right no hamburger on it, all the sides. My wife's chicken had to go back out was cold. When you go out, your just looking for service. Everyone wants that.

HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!! Bad service, bad food, overly priced. I think "wishmaker" is a great name because you will wish you never came to this place.Came here for dinner. Service was slow, she couldn't even keep our water glasses full. Took forever to bring out our wine samples, and the actual bottle of wine. The food was not great, either. Taste and texture were severely lacking, and the portions were small. My date ordered a burger and it came with only 5 onion rings. Literally only 5 dinky rings... And they were cold. His burger (ordered medium rare) was dry and flavorless.I ordered the Tuscan pasta, and it was just as bad. The whole plate was cold, the chicken was dry, and the Alfredo sauce definitely came out of a jar. It was supposed to come with focaccia garlic bread but there's no way that was true focaccia. It was more like an Italian loaf, or just straight up white bread.Extremely disappointing experience. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Save yourself the pain and go somewhere else.

My wife and I made reservations for dinner 6 days in advance. Once we arrived the server was not available so the host sat us at our table which was in the corner of the bar at a two foot table. When walking up to the table with the host, there was an employee sitting there having a glass of wine and the table was littered with the persons belongings. The host made her move so we could sit. Why would we make reservations so we could sit at a tiny table in the corner of a bar??? We were on a date night planning on spending $150 plus for a meal. For a so called 5 star restaurant, this is ludicrous. We have no plans on returning.

What a delightful place to stop and have lunch or to have a special night out. My sisters and I stopped for lunch and everything we got was so tasty and delicious. The manager also showed us the rooms for the bed and breakfast and each room was so clean and tastefully decorated, some even had a little balconies that overlooked the little town of Belleville. I’m definitely planning an evening out there again the staff was friendly the place was clean and beautifully decorated.

Update:Still tryin to get my $35 back that they charged me. Sent them the proof via email from the booking site that clearly stated 0 cancellation fees.So after calling every day for about a week, talking to the same person over and over again trying to get a refund something WEIRD happened. A different floor manager answered. I asked to speak to the owners. They told me they were out of the country. So I was like ok. If you have a problem at your business how do you get in contact with the owners since you are not allowed to process refunds. Their reply: I can just text them. They were very adamant that they were in fact out of the country but they would contact them. I said ok, put me on hold, I’ll wait. Was put on hold. The other manager (one I had talked to before) picked up. They said they were NOT out of the country but they will not be in and they do not know when they will be. They stated that they are the owners and they do not have to stick to a schedule (after telling me the previous day they would be in around 11). After this very lengthy conversation, the woman finally agreed to a refund. It hasn’t posted. It’s been two business day. I’ll wait 5 and then give them a call back but whattttt is going on here!I booked online, for 0 down. I cancelled shortly after because 1. I realized the room would not accommodate an additional guest, 2. There was a line in the fine print that stated wishmaker could charge your card for that balance anytime and I didn’t feel safe with that. So, I cancelled, it was free cancellation until June 11.Two days later I receive a $35 charge. I called. Voicemail was full. The young woman calling was not trained well enough to answer my question and they still have my $35.Maybe a nice place, but just like many other businesses, they hey are quick to take payment but have no clue how to give it back in a timely manner. They said they would have someone call me. Never heard back so I guess I’m going to spend more time trying to get a refund.

Food & drinks: My husband and I went for dinner. The food was delicious and the table service was excellent. We got the pork shank and stockyard sirloin. It was slightly pricey but the portion size was good and the food was so flavorful…overall very much worth it. Will definitely be coming back.
