We stopped on the way to Cincinnati because it was considered the best restaurant in Ohio per Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. It is neither a diner, a drive-in nor a dive. Much fancier than we anticipated. If you have picky eaters, this restaurant isn't for you. Once seated we had to wait a while for service and was told that was due to shift change (ie, lack of communication between shifts). The poutine was excellent as was my trailer dog. My husband had the burger and said it was one of the juiciest he has ever had. The waitress bent over backwards to accommodate a friend's allergy. Overall, great food but we probably won't be back. The hot dog was $12 and the poutine (which we got for free) is priced at $17.

I had never been here before. They had a chicken Parm sandwich for their special that was as big as my face. It had some spice, but the house marinara sauce was outstanding. The bacon fat fries were amazing as well. Also tried the poutine fries and I thought I'd died and gone to heaven! I will definitely go back!

First time going to the Senate. Very impressed. I ordered the Trailer Park hot dog and it was perfect. The service was top notch as well. Super friendly staff. We sat outside. The Senate is just an all around great place.

4 stars all around. Good food, prompt service, nice patio. Nothing outstanding but would go again. Had the spuds hotdog. It was good. Too much bun to dog ratio for me but that's always the case. The flavor was there but something was missing. Maybe crunchier on the French fries.

I have never had food and service so good than I did today here! The building and ambiance was outstanding!

I love coming here after biking at summit, the ambiance is pleasant and the service is good even when it is busy. It is very convenient to park bikes at the bike rack nearby. I wish they would bring back the chicken tikka masala grilled cheese sandwich because it was the best food item in my opinion. My new usual now is the Guaca-Saurus-Rex, which is one of their hotdogs. Overall, this place compliments the park as another place to hangout, with good food and service.(RIP grilled chicken tikka masala sandwich, you will be missed)

Good food in decent atmosphere. We had our dog with, so Sat outside, which was fine, but wasn't ideal as it wasn't super well set up with the concrete tables being large, so we took up a lot of space. The hot dog was great and so was the poutine.

Fantastic. I had the K pop. Delicious rib meat and kimchi elevated the hot dog. The dog itself was excellent, unlike a commercial dog. They make their own and you can tell. Dogs like no other. My son had the Gyro and it was outstanding. Large portions. Three of us shared duck fat fries. The fries could just about feed one if you were moderately hungry. They are thick and cooked to perfection. Crisp. Great herbs. Dipping sauce was a wonderful addition (comes with it). Guy chose a good one for Diners Drive In's and Dives. Kitchen is visible which is a plus. The chef brought the fries out himself. They were in time with our dietary restrictions and worked with us.Dietary restrictions: They were able to serve my tree nut allergic son.

Probably one of my favorite restaurant in Cincinnati. We love the cheeseburgers, mussels (OMG the sauce was amazing), loaded fries, and bone marrow. I love their breads too...crispy and toasted on the outside and soft on the inside.

Had the hot dog with the short ribs & Kimchi. It was delicious. So many flavor profiles. Spicy, sweet, crunchy, soft. It was a flavor explosion. We also had the poutine, it was very rich but again delicious. Would definitely return. The service was awesome as well.

There was a decent wait on a Thursday evening only for me to get seated and find out that they had changed the menu from what was posted online. I had to pivot from the grilled cheese I was looking forward to and it was disappointing to do so. The salad I had was ok, but heavy on the arugula. The lobster Mac and cheese had about .0001 oz of lobster meat topping completely bland noodles. I was hoping the truffle would help it out, but sadly it didn't. The win is that this place is in the middle of Summit Park so it was nice to get to enjoy the surrounding area before and after a bite. I may return for drinks, but I'll pick somewhere else to eat.

The Sazarac cocktail was very good, not too sweet. RRR life his Havana Good Time, but a bit sweet.Wow, the mussels!!! (We split these.) Do not miss these if you like mussels. There is a real chef at work here. Seriously, they should include a spoon for the creamy broth, although I appreciate the cocktail forks for the mussels. We got extra bread for the broth, so glad.Next course, we split a K-pop hotdog. So good!.The chocolate& bourbon bread pudding looked so good we took some back to the hotel. There service was VERY good.

Visited this location of SENATE in Blue Ash while meeting up with family friends in Cincy. We wanted some semi upscale local cuisine and found this general area and specific restaurant to be the perfect fit! It's not really "upscale", but there are fancy hot dogs, various other Cincy highlights, and general American fare at this hip and classy lunch spot. This would be a favorite of mine were I a local!

A spot right off a park, in a nice area...take a walk, work up an appetite !I did just that, nice night for a walk and visiting the area so of course after my walk in the park I pop up YELP to look for some recommendations..and there is Senate. Now as much as that name just pisses me off (this day and age of politics) they had beer and a good rating on YELP. Very good choice, thank you to those who have reviewed.I wanted to have something light so ordered a local beer and tried the Mussels with a side of Truffle Fries! Now, I am just a month off of having the BEST mussels ever in Portland Maine...so I had that in my brain as I waited and drank my beer...well, this was a perfect follow up!The Mussels were very, very good! Fresh, large mussels and the sauce was amazing! Came with some delicious bread for dipping and if not for my social graces I would have used a straw to get all the sauce from the bottom of the bowl...I mean, it was very good! The Truffle fries were OK, not real hot, not real crispy and I am getting a little tired of this side but they were good and great for dipping into the mussel sauce!Very nice spot. All the food I saw go by looked good. Service was solid, music was OK and overall a great stop after a nice walk! Highly recommend this combination! KT

This was just as I remembered. I got one of my old favorites, poutine. I ended up getting it to go because my kids wanted to play at the park. I walked in to get a to go order and the service was pretty fast. I would say the kid's meals are extremely over priced ($12 for a grilled cheese and fries). My kids liked it but it was not that special. I enjoyed my poutine and there are lots of gourmet hot dog options. My husband got a guacasaurus Rex which was tasty.
