Our party had a reservation for 10am. I was so excited because we had never been and brunch reservations on the weekends are hard to get and I had been trying for a while. We arrived at 9:55am. I went to the hostess and was told their reservation system was down but there was just one other reservation in front of me. There was no seating room at the entrance, so we stood, perplexed because there were open tables. We were told they were holding on seating for the kitchen to catch up.After 15 minutes of standing, I asked if perhaps we could be seated and drink coffee while we waited for the kitchen to catch up. I was told no. After about 20 minutes, she called a party up. I figured that was the reservation in front of us. Then she called up two more parties. When she called a fourth, I approached again and told her that she had said there was only one party ahead of us. Clearly she had overlooked us, so she took us instead. Then I realized the hosts were seating everyone waiting all at once, which is course was going to bog down all the servers and the kitchens once again, because instead of staggering throughout that wait time, they will get all the orders in at once.We went to one of the tables that had been sitting there vacant all this time. It was fine, though those chairs aren't the most comfortable. No one greeted us for 15 minutes. She said she'd be right with us. I had just watched for, for the past 15 minutes, as she greeted the table sat right before us, got them water and coffee, then came back and took their order before even greeting us. This is not how to handle being double sat. A couple minutes later a different person brought us water. Then the server still never came. After 20 minutes, the manager came over and asked if everything was ok. I said no. We had been sitting for 20 minutes after standing at the door for 25, and it was now 40 minutes past our reservation time and we didn't even have a drink order in. So she left and came back with a pad and took our orders herself. The server finally came and brought our coffee. Two cups at a time. I had to get cream from the neighboring table because ours was out. She didn't notice until after she had brought all the cups and we asked for more.A short time later a cook brought the food out himself, again two dishes at a time. Do they not have trays there? Anyway, he provided the best service of the day. If I could have tipped him, I would have. The food was standard diner fare but tasty, which is the only reason this review is 2 stars instead of 1 star.We didn't see the server again until the end. She asked if we needed anything and I said I would love some more water. I knew this was a pipe dream, and as you may have guessed, she did not bring more water, but she did bring the check and a basket of ducks. No one explained the ducks so we are still a little confused. She returned with a box and brought card and receipt back pretty quickly (that was the only thing that happened quickly all morning). Note that during our time there no one refilled any drinks or offered more coffee.I left a 10% tip (this is the least I have ever tipped in my life) only because I don't believe any person should work for less than minimum wage and that's the way our tipped workers are treated in this country. Based on service, the tip should have been zero.I can't imagine ever wanting to go there again, which is a shame since I was so excited.

I don’t recall ever giving a 1-star review. I’m writing this to ensure the dear owners are aware. My husband and I have been to this Sugar and Spice dozens of times, around this same time frame. We walked in about 7:45 AM. There was one guy at the bar, another single person in a booth, and one family at a table. The place was basically empty. We requested a booth. I’ve never seen this server. Longer hair with highlights. “All of our booths are reserved.” We find this hard to believe as we’ve been there and know the pattern. Maybe at 9am, or 8:30, but not at 7:45. The bar was empty, except for one patron. Our next request was to sit at the bar. It’s a big bar. She sat us right next to the other patron. It appeared there was limited help. We only saw one server plus her on the floor. If the problem was lack of staff, be honest. We left and went to Toast and Berry which was much more crowded but they immediately sat us… in a booth. I love Sugar and Spice. I hope they relearn the art of customer service.

Horrible customer service. Signed in at 12:45, text at 12:47, saying it would be an hour. So went to Summit to walk around. Came back at 1:40, doors were locked, people coming out saying they stopped seating everyone. Got in and asked if that was for people waiting. Manager was yelling at girls at desk to send everyone out, manager refused to talk to anyone saying they closed in 20 minutes, they close at 2:30, not at two. Never received a text at any time stating this, so we could have still been wandering Summit. Girls at desk super nice and apologetic. Will not go again, used to love this place.

Fun place to visit, food is good. The Sunday morning lunch crowd was very loud. The decibel meter on my phone registered from 82-110 decibels, with sustained over 100. The wonderful waitress couldn't even hear us to take our orders. I'd gladly go back when there isn't a crowd!

We waited about 45 minutes to be sat which we were totally fine with. We were really looking forward to eating here for breakfast when we saw a mouse scurry across the dining room floor after that, we were pretty much done. I think they need more employees. It seemed very understaffed. There were a lot of tables empty, but no one Had a sense of urgency to try to get people in and out. We have gone to the running one numerous times, and I’ve always had a great experience. We will not be back At this location which is so much closer for us.

I went to the new Blue Ash location this morning with my family for breakfast. We used to attend the reading location and loved the food so we thought we’d give this one a try. The food was not good. I ordered the chicken and waffles which the waiter says was a good choice. The chicken tenders looked like they were out of a frozen Tyson bag and the waffle was cold. I had them send the waffle back to warm it and although the plate was warm the waffle still was not. The rest of the family said their food was just ok. To top things off there was a MOUSE in the restaurant that we all saw run towards the kitchen. The. We saw it a Second time when a waitress stepped on it to her surprise and proceeded to jump on a bar stool as the rest of us lifted our legs. I could not believe my eyes. No one that worked in this facility came out to apologize, explain, look for the mouse… nothing. I will never return to this restaurant.

We had a party of 14 all of our food came out cold. My mom's bacon was burnt and to top it off there was a mouse in the restaurant. It ran in the kitchen then ran in the corner near the front door. We will not be returning.

Waited for 30 minutes and then saw everyone get out of their seats while a mouse scurried across the floor. Walked out...

The hype was big for this place, it was just meh for our party of 5. We made a reservation and waited 45 minutes for our table. Service was just okay. Food was not great, undercooked and just lacking in general. The price was far too much, we will not return.
