Butter Maid Bakery

For the love of everything good and pure, where has this bakery been all my life?! AMAZING nut rolls (Kolachi) that bring me back to my childhood. My whole family is hooked! This will be a staple in our home now, and we live on the other side of the country! But delivery was fast and fresh. Do yourself a favor and get some!

Well I must say, in spite of everything coming quickly, fresh and in excellent condition, It was all delicious. I got the Buckeyes = awesome, The low sugar Walnut Kolachi = excellent and the Poppy Seed Kolachi = Wicked Good. Thank you for another successful Christmas and New Year!

Order from here last Christmas for my 2 brothers and myself. We were all impressed by the walnut kolachi rolls so I decided to order again. This time I ordered 2 kolachi samplers for my brother's. The samplers are suppose to include 1/2 apricot, 1/2 walnut and 1/2 pecan rolls. BOTH of these orders were missing the pecan roll. I contacted customer service who instead of addressing my issue did nothing but repeat what was suppose to be in my order. They offered no apology and took NO responsibility for their bakery's mistake. After spending almost $100.00 for partial orders I will NEVER ORDER FROM them again.

I was recently passing through Youngstown Ohio and stopped by butter Maid Bakery to purchase an original kolache nut roll. I remember these from when I was growing up. My Aunt Cecilia used to make them. I found it to be absolutely delicious and very reminiscent of the one that Aunt Cecilia made. I would not hesitate to order one or give it as a gift!

We get an order at Christmas and Easter for the last two years. They make the kolach and Kiefli cookie just like my mom, grandma and great aunts did that came over from Slovakia. Memories of childhood. We highly recommend Butter Maid, for all of their delicious goodies. Their customer service is amazing too. We love how they pack everything so gently and with love and love to see who it was that prepared our order. Wonderful! You will not regret. Try them. You will come back for more. Honest review.
The good and the not-so-good.
Good: very fast shipping , great flavor, very soft dough
Bad: very small amount of filling ( not like it's promoted on the website). I'll try to post a comparison if whats been promoted and what I got. That being said, I only ordered 1 roll ,so I have no comparison. Had I ordered several , I could have seen how they look on average. Maybe I just got a bad batch.
Like I said, the taste is great and it's really soft, so there's no problem there. It's just it costed me with shipping and tax $34 !!! a single roll and for that I expected more filling.
Ps. You'll be able to see clearly which one is their website photo and which is mine.
I did see other people's photos and many of them has more fillings , so maybe I just got a bad batch.
