Kolachi are absolutely terrific. A bit expensive, but worth every penny.

Best poppy seed cake, Ive ever had. Moist, filled with poppy seed filling. Outside, buttery, sweet, soft and just the right texture. Worth every penny, including 2 day shipping. Kolacki's good too

Bakery in Youngstown Ohio. Wonderful European bakery goods. My personal favourite is the Italian Rainbow Cakes. I purchased these for me and the rum balls for my husband. We're also going to cut the blueberry jam Kolachi in half, leaving in the original sealed wrapping and rewrap half for the freezer. We like a slice in the nuker to warm and some extra butter. You can't go wrong with the Poppy seed Kolachi.

We ordered for the first time this Christmas and couldn’t be happier with the baked goods. Even more so, the level of customer service is above and beyond any rating scale. For example , I clicked the wrong item and didn’t notice it until after I placed my order. I contacted them and they quickly fixed the issue. Plus, they went ahead and kept the other item I accidentally ordered in the shipment! What a great unexpected holiday surprise. Special shoutout to Jess on the Care Team!

UPDATE 2/18/2025 I posted an unfavorable response earlier concerning the chocolate chip cookies and ladylocks. I want to retract my unfavorable response to a favorable one. Jackie from Butter Maid Bakery quickly responded to my email. She was so concerned and explained how important quality control is to the bakery. Although she was not able to help me (because I no longer had the original container and receipt) she was still quite concerned with my situation. It’s so nice to see a company that is concerned with the their customers and quality of their product. In our world today, there is so much negativity and we don’t give credit where credit is due. So, I wish to give a huge shout out to Butter Maid Bakery and Jackie for their commitment to quality and customer service. You all are rock stars in my book. I will be returning to your bakery. Thank you, again. 😉 I have read so many wonderful reviews, however I was so disappointed. I bought several dozen of your chocolate chip cookies and your ladylocks. The dough of the ladylocks were awesome however the filling left a bad taste. The chocolate chip cookies were raw, not completely baked. I baked them at 350 degrees for another 9 mins and they were baked perfectly. For the price, I won’t be back. I don’t mind paying for quality baked goods but not when it’s still raw batter.

We have been customers for last couple years. Growing up in Ohio and learning from my grandmother, I was excited to find a bakery after what replicated what she did and how it tasted. Living in AZ I have found a couple places. But~ nothing like Buttermaid. 😋😋😋

We bought the raspberry kolache before because it was so flavorful!! Always fresh and so delicious!! This time we’re trying the lemon & apple cinnamon. Can’t wait!!

Belittling, condescending and demeaning customer service. I placed a mail order, when the product was delivered, I emailed with a concern not a complaint but a concern. When I received an answer the customer service person was condescending and argumentative that I had not even received my order.... I would have been happy to sent them a picture, but she wanted an argument. I will never order from them again. Entitled customer service!!!

I remember as a lil boy growing up in Cleveland,helping mom make nut rolls for the holidays. I would grind the nuts for her while she needed the dough. It was an all day process, the only thing close to mom’s is the ones I get from Butter Maid Bakery, y’all have the best Kolachies, just like mom. Thank you for sharing found memories of my childhood with my mom.
