Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Monday I met a family member and friend for lunch. I ordered my favorite meal since 1994, the chicken and dumplings with carrots. I love this meal but it's been ruined for me with how horridly salty it is now. I spoke to the waitress (Myra who was wonderful by the way) and she allowed me to replace my order with grilled chicken (which wasn't very good at all) I decided to talk to the manager. He came to the table, didn't greet us and didn't even speak till I said hello to him. He didn't tell us his name and just shrugged at me when I told him how bad the chicken & dumplings are now. He attempted to gaslight me by telling me the recipe has not changed and shrugged at me again when I told him I would most likely never come back. He only said sorry after I sat in silence looking at him. And he only told me his name was Larry after I asked. By the way, he's their general manager. Extremely unprofessional. I reached out to the corporate office and got no return phone call. Disappointing Cracker barrel, you've lost a very long time customer with your awful behavior.

our service was excellent but the food awful. the chicken and dumplings were so salty you could not eat them. we spoke to the General manager who was there, and he was rude and short with all 3 of us at the table. More or less calling us liars about the food. Next thing we know our waitress was crying as she had been reprimanded for us talking to the manager. What happened to Cracker Barrel it used to be a nice place.

Terrible food, okay service, and your typical, beautiful Cracker Barrel decor and gift shop. Kinda wish we would’ve only visited the gift shop instead of eating there as well.

The new Louisiana Style Shrimp Skillet is very tasty. Not a lot of food for $14.99 and the rice was tough, but overall was very enjoyable.

We visited the Cracker Barrel location in Cambridge, Ohio Friday, February 14, 2025. We’ve always enjoyed a great meal. My husband and I were looking forward to the fish fry. However, we were very disappointed with the fish. It was over cooked and almost all breading. I had no cod inside the crunchy batter. I politely shared my complaint with our server. She apologized and had the manager visit our table. The manager offered to send out a new batch of fish. She also apologized and stated that there were young idiots working in the kitchen tonight. The second batch was not much better. Mostly crunchy, greasy batter with little cod inside.
The manager did not offer to remove the charges from our bill.
Needless to say I paid the check in full and left a generous tip for our server.
