I was excited to try this place for the first time but left so disappointed. Easter Sunday was extremely overpriced. 40 dollars per person for the same menu they always have. The salad consisted of lettuce and dressing. No vegetables. Fried chicken was flavorless and dry. All of the sides looked as though they came straight out of the can. The worst part was walking into the bathroom and finding my feet stuck to the floor with every step. Had a good time looking around the general store and letting the kids feed the goats but other than that it was not a good experience. Will not go back.

Enjoyable home style food. Had fried chicken and sides. We tried strawberry vodka lemonade and blueberry vodka lemonade. Wasn't worth $12 for each cocktail. Meal was great. Bill came to $77 plus tip for two.

It's a good history lesson. But the quality of food don't match the price. It's a good one time visit but not worth a second. If you like old buildings and the history of the area it's a real good visit.

Our family loves dining at Schoolhouse, the chicken was excellent tonight, and the pork shanks were tasty and a large portion.Kid-friendliness: Bring your kids.

First time visitor to the Schoolhouse Restaurant on April 14, 2024. Exceptional food! Great atmosphere! Friendly and attentive service! I wholeheartedly recommend. Family style but each person gets to select their choice of entree. My cousin's both chose the celebrated fried chicken and exclaimed over the meal. I had one of the specials of the day, flat iron steak with grilled onions. Again, the meal was terrific! My steak was cooked to perfection and the grilled onions were sliced thick and there were so many of them. Family style coleslaw, tossed salad, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, carrots and cornbread were served and when the bowls began to run low the waitress brought more throughout the meal. We had to get a box apiece for what we couldn't eat and then we also brought home our choice of dessert. In addition we had a plate of the fried green tomatoes. Huge slices and fried to a golden brown. Fantastic! After we finished our meal, we moved outside to one of the picnic tables under an open air pavilion and chatted for quite some time. Rather than ask us to be on our way, one of the waitresses brought out 3 to go glasses of ice water. We spent a wonderful time catching up and laughing together and watching families with small children playing on the grounds and playground equipment provided by the restaurant. The five acre grounds adjoins the Loveland Bike Trail and there's a path to access it from the restaurant grounds. There is also a general store and gift shop in a separate building and a fenced in area with goats and sheep that welcome friendly pats and scratches. The restaurant is accessible via a ramp at the back of the building. Steps are available in the front as well. The restroom is not handicap accessible, however. Overall though I cannot say enough good things about The Schoolhouse Restaurant. It was a perfect day!Parking: Plenty of parking available on a gravel or grass surface behind the building.Wheelchair accessibility: We called ahead and were advised to look for a ramp at the back of the building rather than coming in through the front entrance. The ramp led directly into the seating area with plenty of space for my power wheelchair. I was able to sit comfortably at a round table with my cousins. The waitress was very accommodating to the point of sliding the table a few inches to make room.

We got a big order from them today 4/13/2024 and it was my first time having this restaurant and I will say the chicken had absolutely no taste to it whatsoever. No seasoning at all not even salt and pepper so it was so disappointing. We didn’t get the green beans but I did like the mashed potatoes and Cole slaw. I probably would not go back unless they started using some type of seasoning in their flour for the chicken because I could eat bland chicken at home if I wanted it. We got two things of salad and got one small thing of dressing so half the salad had no dressing. This restaurant is highly recommended in the neighborhood group and maybe because of the location or maybe some like no flavor but for the price it was a little let down.

The food and service here was absolutely fantastic. I had the fried chicken and it was very good and my wife had the cod and it was very good as well. The server was very attentive to our needs as guestsI’d like to retract an earlier review when I posted a one star due to the inability to actually get a hold of the restaurant to set a reservation, which I was finally able to do. If you don’t succeed in getting a hold of this restaurant, keep trying. My wife and I had a great dining experience.

We went there for Easter lunch. The service was slow and the food was average. Nothing to really complain about though since it's a pretty casual place, i didnt expect much. My issue came when I got the bill and was charged fine dining prices for again.. a CASUAL, basic meal. $40 for one adult entree and $15 for a kids meal. My total was $80 for myself and 2 kids. I had no way of knowing this since the menu is written on a chalk board and they conveniently leave off the pricing. I didn't think much of it at the time, assumed no way it would be more than $15 for my own meal and maybe $10 for a kids meal tops. And then when it's too late and I've already eaten, they drop the bill I realize I was completely scammed by these people. I have been to fine dining restaurants and paid less. These people completely ripped us off and doubled their usual prices just because it's a holiday. We will never be back after this. I'm disgusted I just dropped almost $100 after tip for the most basic lunch you could get. Honestly, who do you people think you are? I paid less for dinner at Montgomery Inn with drinks just last week.
