A nice, quiet place to grab a beverage and read a book.

Finally had an opportunity to try out Shale Craft coffee this weekend. I ordered the Oatmeal Cookie and got the Cinnamon Caramel for my husband. We both really enjoyed our drinks! Customer service was also lovely, we will be back!

Very cute coffee shop! I love that they have a coffee flight option. We’ve been wanting to try this place so I’m glad it’s apart of the coffee crawl which is why we finally got around to going.
Sad they don’t have cups for purchase but the staff was super friendly and helpful. Definitely will recommend to add more flavor to the coffee if you’re like me and like your coffee sweet. Got a specialty coffee and added another flavor and it was still bitter tasting so I would add more flavor next time. Love the set up as well.

I ordered a sugar-free latte and was amazed at the sugat free syrup options. Chose BUTTERSCOTCH and it was delicious!!

The experience at this place was somewhat mixed. Out of the four iced coffees we ordered, only two were enjoyable. On the bright side, the warm pumpkin scone was so delightful that I nearly forgot to share it with my girlfriend.

The atmosphere was rather boisterous, likely due to the patrons' proximity and a baby's presence. Additionally, it was apparent that the establishment was on the smaller side and was pretty chilly outside.

While the staff didn't offer any recommendations, they were friendly and accommodating.

I spent a lot of time in this coffee shop over the summer of 2024 after class. Shale's excellent barista team and excellent coffee helped me power through chemistry and I couldn't be more thankful! Shale offers a relaxing environment to work and study, kind staff, and delicious bakery items and coffee!! I go to college in Athens, OH and I spend a lot of time in a similar coffee shop to get my work done. THANK YOU SHALE for being my go-to while I'm home for the summer!

Parking: There's several spots right in front of the shop and free parking lots on either side as well.

1st time here not a good experience. I had to repeat everything to the girl 3 times. Not a great selection of treats. Probably won't be back

I would leave 2.5 stars as an overall rating for my experience if I could, but Google won't let me, so I will just leave it at two.
My partner and I went here today because our normal coffee spot is closed on Sundays. We are both LGBTQ+, but my partner more visibly so. The barista who rung us out kept giving him (my partner) weird/nasty looks. This, along with the atmosphere (country music/decor), made us feel a bit uncomfortable there. Not that the decor and music were bad alone, but with the looks that we were being shot, I wouldn't call this place necessarily "LGBTQ+" friendly. Maybe it was just a bad day that we caught them, but it was really just uncomfortable. If you are LGBTQ+, I personally would not recommend. The coffee and tea isn't bad, and neither is the food, but I would rather go elsewhere and be treated with less of a bias and have better food/drinks than go back here :/

**EDIT**
I could have said a lot worse. This business is obviously extremely immature in responses to people who leave reviews.
In hindsight, I would have said that the coffee was stale, the tea was something I could have made at home, and the pastries were about as good as something you could make from a box. Prices are cheap (rightfully so) for what you’re getting. Being unnecessarily rude just solidified my initial thought of this place.
