I’ve been enjoying this root beer stand since the late 1960’s. My family has a long tradition with the owners back in the day. As a young boy I would ride my bike from my grandparents house down to the root beer stand. I would get the quart take home size that was kind of like a milk carton shape that was tapered from the top to the bottom. It was always ice cold and had foam on top. Over the years when I would be in Canton visiting family, a trip to the root beer stand was a must. Ok fast forward to Saturday August 16th. Three SUV’s of our family stops for our traditional ice cold root beer. After spending $61.00+ for our drinks and a few cups of just ice water, some of us were completely disappointed. I for one didn’t even finish my root beer. The mugs are no longer ice cold, the root beer was cool and not cold and it had a very strong vanilla flavor. I could not get past the taste as from childhood to an adult now in my mid 60’s it had definitely changed and it’s not a good change. At one point my niece had walked up to the window to get a refill of her water, she was told that would be $0.50. She even took her original water cup and just wanted a refill on a 90+ degree summer afternoon. I told my family that I would go speak to the manager and was asked not to. I asked if she got her water refilled and she said that for $0.50 she was not going to. So much for tradition, so much for keeping recipes that stood the test of time. I’ve enjoyed this business for over 60 years of my life that my father, brother, myself and other family members have enjoyed. I even remember the cement floor sink like area where they use to make the root beer in back in the 60’s. My next trip to Ohio, I now live in Tennessee, will not have a special stop at the root beer stand. I guess A&W Root Beer from the grocery store will have to do next time I visit Canton, Ohio

Had a craving for a coney dog and didn’t wanna drive all the way to BK root beer stand so we Tried woodys first the first time today and was satisfied! Love the sauce. The cheeseburger was really good. The mushrooms were also delicious. Loved the hot fudge Sunday. Rootbeer was so yum!

Awesome staff,Great hot food. Prices are reasonable. The entire menu is terrific. Of course the Root Beer steals the show. I wish they were open year round. The Cream Chicken Sandwich is to die for,the taste will leave you wanting to purchase more than two at a time. So when your there bring cash. I advise at least a $50 dollar bill. Not because of prices but the two gallons of Root Beer and extra chicken sandwiches. Also they have nice T-shirts on sale. If you have family from out of state, Please let them experience Woody,s they will have a great time.

Woody's has been a staple in our community for years, offering the famous, but not commonly heard of, Creamy Chicken sandwich!!! If you've never had one, you must stop and get one or two because they're delicious!!!
Just remember they're CASH ONLY!!!

The service was really good polite girl. However the burgers are not good at all . Very cheap u literly get what u pay for a 4$ burgers taste bad. Not even salt on the patty . Thats all i tried over there a regular burger but maybe their other items are better

Woody's is one of my favorite seasonal places to go for lunch !! Best Root beer, best coney's, well every single item there is delicious 😋. Right by the park to sit and have lunch with friends 🧡 plus they have picnic tables there to sit as well !! Plenty of homemade goodness ❤️ My friends came up from C-Bus a week ago and Woody's was right where we went !!! Don't miss out this summer !!!
